This page needs to be edited. Especially in categories there should be categories for hunger games films and for Lionsgate films separate releases. Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.198.243.116 (talk) 02:35, 27 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

In the article, please change "American film production and film and television distribution studio" to "American film production & distribution studio", as Lionsgate has a television syndication firm, in the form of Debmar-Mercury. 2600:1700:C960:2270:2901:76E5:C1BC:6ADB (talk) 05:30, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Question: Just wondering, if Liomsgate has a television syndication arm, why would we remove "television distribution" from the lead? It doesn't really make sense. Aoi (青い) (talk) 08:56, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Done, Debmar-Mercury is, similarly to Lionsgate Films, a division of Lionsgate Entertainment, the parent company. Debmar-Mercury is separate and distinct from Lionsgate Films. Fish+Karate 09:07, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

In the list of highest grossing lionsgate films, the link for Twilight: New Moon goes to Twilight: Eclipse, not the correct film. It needs to be replaced with the film here:

Thank you have a great day. 2603:6000:B34B:E699:CDE4:E000:3C32:B277 (talk) 02:55, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Little Mermaid

edit

Please note that even I'm skeptical if this film is truly affiliated with Lionsgate but according to the trailer it is. However some details are vague rn and unclear if a new franchise is being formed. Apparently they are making a new Little Mermaid with a horror twist but so far isnt affiliated with Disney. Can someone help verify this cause I didn't want to add a film in any case of accidental backlash from false information sharing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1dfTzpfXdoSCPdude629 (talk) 03:55, 23 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

This page should be renamed to Lionsgate.

Lionsgate FilmsLionsgate – The current title "Lionsgate Films" is not the common name. The company is commonly known as just "Lionsgate" across reliable sources and its own branding. Consistent with naming conventions for organizations. Diana0134 (talk) 03:28, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. There are numerous entities listed at Lions Gate#Entertainment that are or have been referred to as "Lionsgate" and it is not clear which is the primary topic or if there even is one. I am aware of two recent discussions relevant to this issue: Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 June 12#Lionsgate and Talk:Lionsgate Studios#Requested move 20 May 2025. There may be others. Previous suggestions have included making Lionsgate a distinct DAB page from Lions Gate, redirecting it instead to Lions Gate#Entertainment, or creating a set index article at Lionsgate. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 20:27, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
making Lionsgate a distinct DAB page from Lions Gate was MY suggestion and till now I still stand by that, redirecting it instead to "Lions Gate#Entertainment" was the outcome of the RfD you cited (and I created, ironically and coincidentally) and the RM (which I'll state again that it was stemmed from InfiniteNexus trying to usurp a former title of over 2 decades with a studio formed just over a year ago), creating a set index article at Lionsgate. totally and obviously zilch/out of the question. The primary topic for the Lionsgate title is no primary topic, i.e. a DAB page, plain and simple! (See Universal Studios and its page history for proof relative to this.) Bear in mind that, since "Lionsgate" was renamed Starz Entertainment on 28 November 2024, no other discussion arose from a usurpation of this title, apart from these two you mentioned. I'm currently waiting till at least November to make a better RfD for this. The RfD I created was in haste as I was using a public internet café PC and my allotted minutes were running out. The Entertainment section in the Lions Gate DAB page should rather spin-out/spun-out and usurp the Lionsgate title and make the latter a DAB page instead. Intrisit (talk) 13:54, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I would oppose because of the same points made by @Myceteae but also because "Lions Gate" could refer to a numerous amount of different things. GeorgeM2011(talk to me) | (My Edits) 16:45, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oppose - I will repeat what I stated for the other Lionsgate discussion: "Lionsgate Studios Corp isn't d/b/a-ing as "Lionsgate" & Starz Entertainment Corp isn't d/b/a-ing as "Starz". According to their respective articles, Lionsgate Studios Corp publicly operates as "Lionsgate Studios", while Starz Entertainment Corp does so as "Starz Entertainment". Also, Lionsgate Studios Corp's name is more than just "Lionsgate", much like Starz Entertainment Corp's name is more than just "Starz. Plus, it does make sense, eventually, to do a disambiguation for the "Liongsate" brand, due to both "Lionsgate Studios Corp" and "Liongate Films" existing, as there's the possibility some could refer to either property by nothing more than the "Lionsgate" name". ClarkKentWannabe (talk) 20:11, 5 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
My thoughts exactly!! Lionsgate Studios Corp publicly operates as "Lionsgate Studios", while Starz Entertainment Corp does so as "Starz Entertainment" whether they operate with or without the "Corp" in their name has no bearing here per WP:NCCORP (See the latter's RfD). Like I stated on the above reply, the "Lionsgate" title must (not even should) be a distinct DAB page in its own right! Intrisit (talk) 14:16, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
How about this: User:Myceteae/lionsgate. I am happy to re-present to RFD. I suppose we should wait for this RM to be decided. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 23:34, 7 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
