Sexuality

edit

This reads as if he was straight all his life: wife, kids, the whole disaster. But there was more to him than that. He and Benjamin Britten were lovers for a time, and I'm sure he had other men in his life. He was essentially gay, or at least bisexual, who managed to marry and have an apparently happy straight life. We need to include some information about this. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 02:46, 9 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Photo?

edit

I appended a stub flag to the end of the External Links section of the article. The introductory section is in need of a photo, or at least a portrait, of the composer. I'm sure there must be one somewhere in the Ethernet. At the very least, some library somewhere (perhaps in or near the composer's hometown) has one in its collection. Any takers? Legacy/reception?

edit

I have a suspicion that Berkeley has gone somewhat out of fashion and isn't played much any more. It would be helpful to have a section giving some information on this. If it became a "Legacy" section, the comments from his former pupils could be put in there instead of in the biography section. Northtowner (talk) 08:39, 17 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
