sallam alaikum. this review may take longer than the usual seven days, as the nominator (my mentor) is away for the week. but as they say in their own reviews, i will be clearing the "basics", but i have many improvement suggestions i will be leaving, as i think there's greater potential here than a GA. after clearing the "basics" and leaving those suggestions, i will try to review other GANs, to the best of my abilities. copyvio: 1.0%, nothing of note. Sound (talk) 07:05, 16 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
as i said in my opening message, this will be the end of the review for now until signedinteger can address what i suggested. there will be more suggestions later. Sound (talk) 07:14, 16 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

suggestions

edit
  1. the lead is way too short, for an article that's so in-depth, the lead feels weak.
  2. the third and fourth section could use expansion.
  3. i'm not sure on how these sections work, but the notable members and discography section may need sources.
  4. in general, if the prose was expanded, this could reach those heights i think it is capable of.

Sound (talk) 07:04, 16 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

5. final suggestion is to fix up the NLI sources with the proper newspaper and the like. that is all for now. Sound (talk) 07:14, 16 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
after a few hours, i have read this article and have a few more suggestions:
  1. add alt text to the images, for accessibility reasons
  2. this one is optional, but if you can try, try to get more images of the band uploaded. the three ones used are already pretty good, but i'd like some from before the 1960s, and some during the 1980s.
  3. perhaps a legacy or cultural impact section? i think this one would require other editors to support it.
that is all. BedsAreBurning aka Sound🇵🇸 19:09, 16 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
now, a few more suggestions:
  1. fix the dating for the sources
  2. i noticed a few sources cite a book, use Template:sfn and add the book in a "Bibliography" subsection
that is all. BedsAreBurning aka Sound🇵🇸 21:32, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hello, @BedsAreBurning! I'll be trying my best to handle each suggestion, thank you for reviewing this and for managing to become such a great editor already :) S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 17:58, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
i'd still recommend sourcing the notable members section, it shouldn't take too long for you, i'm sure. BedsAreBurning aka Sound🇵🇸 18:53, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Understandable, I'll get this done real quick. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 18:55, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
while you did not do all of my suggestions, i will still pass this anyway, we'll discuss the FAC later =)
great work =) BedsAreBurning aka Sound🇵🇸 19:07, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

criteria list

edit

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
very little ce to be done here
    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
    no notes
  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
    references and bibliography
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
    see source review
    C. It contains no original research:
    see source review
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
    1.0%, no worries
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
while the last section may not cover much, i think this is more of a problem for FAC reviewers to deal with, as this is extremely comprehensive for its subject matter.
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
    short and sweet.
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
    good work
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
this article is as stable as switzerland
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:
all images used are wikimedia commons, no non-free images here. i do think that a template with a sample of one of their songs would be neat but this should only be for a song that is unlikely to get its own article.
    B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
they are all images of the band performing.
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
this article is proof that a subject's obscurity cannot prevent an article form being great =)
