Although he changed his name upon conversion to Islam in mid-2008, it isn't clear that the new name has stuck. Agencia Bissau is still calling him by his old name. Everyking (talk) 17:56, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia prioritizes common names, so all you need to know is that Kumba Yala (in its various spellings) is the most commonly used name. Everyking (talk) 02:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I understand that, but I was concerned about a time delay as he'd only changed his name several months ago, so was/is it just a time delay thing we're seeing here. Casliber (talk · contribs) 03:23, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

International news agencies use the old name, Kumba Yala: . Nobody, as far as I can see, uses the new name. I once again call for moving the article. Everyking (talk) 16:51, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
