"Class" is doubtful.
editThe "Class" was Kite and Linnet but in construction and appearance Gull and Kite Navy photos show "class" similarity. DANFS does not note a class to either and Linnet has "(AM-76: dp. 410, l. 123'10"; b. 23-; dr. 12'; s. 10 k.; a. 13", 2 .30 cal. mg.; cl. Bullfinch)" That certainly calls into question a "Kite" class including Linnet. In the usual assignment of class to almost identical builds with a lead ship "Gull" class would be normal. Then neither Gull nor Kite have a "cl." note at all making official naval class use questionable and certainly for Linnet having the class note as Bullfinch. ~2026-12562-05 (talk) 18:52, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
