'Old Probs'
editThe term "Old Probs" was used for weather predictors in the 19th century, beginning, apparently, in 1871. Follow this link for some of its uses. It undoubtedly means "Old Probabilities," and seems to have been first applied to the weather predictions of the U.S. government. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 14:24, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
The Constant episode
editThe podcast The Constant has just done an episode on Tice, which goes into his story (and his theory of weather) in rather more detail. While it wouldn't be usable directly as a source, it would be useful to anyone interested in updating this article. Adam Sampson (talk) 19:08, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
