Young Lincoln
editI had initially added the sculpture Young Lincoln to the list of works in this article, but it appears to have been created by a different artist of the same name. The Hansen biography cited in the references here does not match up with the known details of the sculptor of Young Lincoln, who was a 23-year-old working in Los Angeles in 1941, not a 16-year-old in high school in Washington, and sat for an interview with the Los Angeles Times after winning the competition for which the piece was created. For reference, here is the description and reference source (the GSA web site quotes the LA Times article):
- Young Lincoln (1941), Indiana limestone on a black granite pedestal[1]
- Won a competition organized by the Federal Works Agency for the recently completed Spring Street Courthouse, where it remains on public display
