I'll take a look at this one. ~ A412 talk! 23:58, 2 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done, holding for grammar and prose. Feel free to push back on anything you don't think is an improvement. This was a fascinating read, thank you for writing it. ~ A412 talk! 00:03, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Do you mind if I fix your archive url-status fields? I'm getting rate limited by IA...

Go for it. Most should still be active. I'm reading as you go, though I think the one hangup we may have is the Susan bit; she's actually called specifically that in game and media around it, which is a bit weird? But at the same time we use Tifa for Tifa Lockhart so...--Kung Fu Man (talk) 17:37, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh, is it because Storm exists? Thanks Marvel. ~ A412 talk! 00:02, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Spotcheck

edit
  • [4] - Fine.
  • [9] - Mostly fine. Is the streamer controversy as settled as the update from Automaton ([11]) implies? Is there a more explanatory source than that article's It has since been revealed...?
  • [14] - Fine.
  • [17] - Fine.
  • [19] - Fine.
  • [21] - Fine.
  • [24] - and other factors is vague to the point I cannot confirm what this is referencing.
  • [29] - Fine.
  • [34] - I'm not sure the source supports Ravi Sinha of GamingBolt meanwhile felt this versatility was one of the reasons Rivals was able to overshadow Overwatch. Colp's point seems to be about individual heroes (with Invisible Woman in focus), their ability complexity, and their suitedness to the role. Sinha's point seems more general and about the structure of the game and about role queue.

Reliable sources

edit
  • [27] - This is a weird source. It feels weird to cite finance.sina.com.cn about video games or about cosplay, and it doesn't really say anything besides "look at this cosplay". You don't have to remove it if there's nothing better, but ...is there nothing better?

Images

edit
  • Infobox: Image is fine. Fair use rationale cites . I wouldn't be surprised if Fandom ripped it from elsewhere, what do you think about as source? (embeds ).
  • Skin: Image is fine, caption is fine, fair use rationale is good.

Prose

edit

Lead

edit
  • General note: Wikipedia:Writing about women. I don't love that we refer to her by first name as Susan. I checked some sources, and I don't think many use singular Susan. Would prefer Invisible Woman or Storm. I also don't love and is the wife of Reed Richards.
  • breakout character -> breakout success flows better and is more source-accurate
  • as has been noted as the subject of fan creations including pornography -> Did you mean as she has been noted? In any case, I think the better wording is and she has been the frequent subject of fan creations, including pornography Also, is this going to be another Purah where I get to watch talk page debates about this being in the lead...
  • depiction in some in-game advertisements for Rivals - I'm confused, the body seems to discuss out-of-game advertisements on TikTok and Reddit.

Conception and design

edit
  • implemented into the game Marvel Rivals by the NetEase Games development team -> implemented into Marvel Rivals by NetEase Games
  • In Rivals, while the character is still called the Invisible Woman, she is referred to by name as Susan Storm - What does this mean? Isn't her name also Susan Storm outside of the game?
  • Twitch streamer Alanya "ARUUU" Alisha claimed - As per my question above, is this known to be false? If RS agree it's false, we should lead with falsely claimed, if it's disputed we should say it's disputed.
  • several news referenced it as fact - News is uncountable. several publications? several news sites?
  • they wanted to attract contemporary players - Are there non-contemporary players of live-service video games?
  • Malice - Sectionlink Malice (character)#Malice, the Mistress of Hate

Appearances

edit
  • This version of the Invisible Woman, In the game's, In-game, In terms of gameplay for Rivals - Don't need to tell the reader four times that this is about the Rivals version
  • Orb Projection, "Veiled Step", etc - pick quoted or unquoted
  • as they travel -> as it travels

Promotion and controversy

edit
  • online advertisements for the game on social media websites - I think all ads on social media are inherently online
  • In September 2025, the Malice skin's design was used for the look of a evil alternate universe version calling herself The Invincible Woman - This is in the comic, right? I'd specify that, currently we leave that unresolved until the next sentence
  • The advertising campaigns for the game drew some controversy, with Olivia Richman writing for The Escapist complaining that those for the game utilizing female characters like Susan often relied heavily on her sexuality - Wordy, complaining editorializes, and plural disagreement. Suggestion: The advertising campaigns drew some controversy. Olivia Richman writing for The Escapist said that advertisements featuring female characters like Susan often relied heavily on their sexuality
  • Maybe link Ad Standards?
  • 'abuse' - either doublequotes or italics for words-as-words
  • she felt the problem with the game's advertising lay more in how it treated its female characters overall - reading the source, Kaur's commentary in this regard seems about the game as a whole, not just the ads, so: she felt the larger problem lay more in how the game treated its female characters overall

Critical reception

edit
  • Danny Koo stated that search results related to the character on Google rose by 3000% after the trailer's reveal, an observation confirmed by Trent Cannon of Popverse - This isn't an opinion, so do we need to attribute it? Search results related to the character on Google rose by 3000% after the trailer's reveal and cite to both sources?
  • was likely intended -> likely intended or was likely intending
  • and other factors - Vague to the point of saying nothing
  • The staff of Inside Games shared this observation, stating that much of the player response focused on the character's backside, particularly due to her body line emphasized by a skin tight suit, and fans responded by producing large amounts of fan art of the character on Twitter - This sentence is long but I don't have a suggested fix. It's also kinda not-an-opinion, body line is an unusual phrase, and fans producing fan art is repetitive.
  • surprised that the character's model was not a user-created modification of the game but instead implemented by the developers themselves - surprised that this was the official character model and not a user-created modification is shorter and clearer
  • He further noted that comparisons had been made to character designs in European and American video games, with some fans expressing their belief that the Chinese-developed effort was not something that the former two could readily match - shorter as He further noted fans expressing their belief that the Chinese-developed character design was not something European and American designers could readily match?
  • circumstances around the character - vague
  • the impact to the Malice skin's design - do you mean the impact of the Malice skin's design? Or just the Malice skin

Criticisms towards design

edit
  • with some suggesting - does the source go into who these some may be?
  • In November - Which year? But also, is the date important?
  • originally intention -> original intention
  • laid back - I think lying back is more standard
  • Eric Hodges in an article for ComicBook.com described it as a problem of their own making, pointing out that the developers - Grammar works better if you swap Eric Hodges in an article for ComicBook.com described it as a problem of the developers' own making, pointing out that they
  • may have a "type" - don't need to quote type

Analysis of gameplay

edit
  • other characters in the hero shooter genre of that classification -> other such characters in the hero shooter genre?
  • Comparing it - it is weird. Comparing her if you mean just Invisible Woman or Comparing them if you mean support characters in Rivals at large
  • had to utilized -> had to utilize
