IP user disclosing a COI
editAn individual linked with the institute has tried to reach out, and has disclosed a conflict of interest. I am transcluding here the IP user's talk page:
== IRI Page Edits ==I have a vested interest and am interested in expanding the contents of our IRI wikipedia page. The institute has expanded into many different areas and retracted from others listed on the page, rendering it antiquated for readers.
Can someone advise on how to administer these changes alongside your team?

- Hello. Is it this page: International Republican Institute? Guidance for conflict of interest situations is contained in Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. It would be best to register an account. When you do so, be sure to enter a permitted username (please see WP:ORGNAME and WP:ISU) You have done well to introduce yourself as an individual, and not as a collective, and to have disclosed the relationship. There are various other norms regarding this in the linked COI guideline. The desirable mode of contributions is suggesting changes, so that others can evaluate them (as opposed to the otherwise default WP:BEBOLD). Reasonable, non-tendentious, requests to make changes that are verified in the usual way are accepted. There are editors who can offer much better guidance than myself, as I'm a new editor. Be sure to check in at the WP:TEAHOUSE. Best regards. twsabin 23:27, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you, yes it is this page. I will review the conflict of interest situations, create an account, and make suggested changes for evaluation. Are there any other concerns I should have on completing this task?

This week, I will enter suggested changes to the IRI Wikipedia page. At the moment, the page reads as if the organization is a government sponsored coup group which is grossly inaccurate. Without additional information on IRI programming in regions around the world, this page is obsolete and frankly misinforming readers. To answer some previous comments on the questions of partisanship, this is a fully non-partisan organization that works alongside all administrations. They are funded by both Democrat and Republican administrations. 'Republican' in the title and 'Democrat' in the title of NDI represent the type of government we built in the United States, a federal republic with democracy, and has no connection to the domestic party's outside of the board's imbalance which is symbolic. Both NDI and IRI board's DO have members of both party's. Both NDI and IRI have staff members representating political leanings of both parties. I'm happy to collaborate with editor to make this page accurate.
Much needed edits to IRI page

- Reason for the change: This page is both misleading and inaccurate. IRI works, at foreign governments' request, to enhance democratic participation and good governance, not nefarious actions to topple regimes. That is currently how this page reads. It also uses citations from unreliable, politically bias sources such as Mother Jones.

Not done: this is a rewrite of most of the article, much of it is unacceptably promotional, and it has no inline sources supporting the requested changes (I'm not going to pick through the flat list of links to guess at which change each one supports). I suggest you split this into a separate request for each section or even each change, say explicitly what text needs to be changed and what to change it to (in "please change X to Y" format) and support each request with reliable sources. Your requests will be less likely to languish if they're clear and easy to digest. Thanks. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:18, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
Copyright Violation?
editHello! I believe you have altered some information on my page, saying it was a copyright violation. I have all the sources for my information attached in the paragraph and covered all my bases. The information you removed does not violate any copyrights of the sources. We can talk through specifics if you would like, but please do not erase. Ssimpson07 (talk) 13:06, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
Above Copyright complaint
editI did see these edits yesterday as I have been monitoring the page for someone to comment or participate in the suggested edits. The previous edits deleted by User Diannaa did not violate copyright and are considered reasonable factual and sourced. Any perceived copyright infringement is waived in this coi capacity. The page needs to become more accurate to avoid considerations of misinformation. With that in mind, the edits suggested above in my talk comments or from the other user submitted yesterday should be permitted and kept. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AAkers3939 (talk • contribs) 17:19, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
