Rating discussion
editIt's pathetic that such an important aircraft has little more than a stub! Working the extensive public-domain info at VectorSite into the page would catapult it to GA or even FA status! - Aerobird 05:11, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Ambiguous text
editWikipedia stadard fonts make uppercase "i" and lowercase "l" indistinguishable. All occurences of "Il-28" in this article should be changed to "IL-28" to avoid confusion. 10:29 AM 12 March 2007 EDT
Specifications and Graphics
editI have a Soviet document on this aircraft with full specifications and good graphics. I need some help translating the document to include the information in this article. Carl M. Anglesea (talk) 04:23, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
First flight
editWhere is the first flight date of 8 July 1948 taken from? Other online sources give the date as 8 August 1948. Drutt (talk) 06:44, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Operational History
editThe F-84F article has the following info:
"In what is probably one of the very few air-to-air engagements involving the F-84F, two Turkish Air Force F-84F Thunderstreaks shot down two Iraqi Il-28 Beagle bombers that crossed the Turkish border by mistake during a bombing operation against Iraqi Kurdish insurgents. This engagement took place on 16 August 1962."
This info may well be repeated here.
Survivors
editI think a section about the survivors would be a good addition to the article. And an extra note, there's one Il-28 on display in Surabaya. Hardtofindausername (talk) 10:46, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- So long as its properly sourced per WP:Verify, go for it! Might want to also look at WP:Aviation for further guidance. Cheers! Skyraider1 (talk) 21:36, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
Cannons
editAccording to this lemma the IL-28 was equipped with NS-23 cannons. However, the respective lemmas of the Nudelman-Suranov NS-23 and the Nudelman-Rikhter NR-23 suggest the IL-28 was equipped with the latter. A reliable source seems to be needed here..... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.176.180.249 (talk) 19:34, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
Number in service
editThe article refers to the DPRK having about a dozen in service, yet I came here from an article on 38north.org that includes satellite photos showing thirty aircraft that had recently moved to Uiju airbase. The article implys the number in service with the DPRK is closer to sixty. https://www.38north.org/2024/10/uiju-military-airfield-welcomes-back-bombers/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.9.230.116 (talk) 03:16, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
