biblical “liberalism”?

edit

The article claims that most evangelical hispanics adhere to biblical liberalism, but I’m almost sure it’s a typo for “biblical literalism.” what do you think? 66.161.175.11 (talk) 17:40, 28 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

It was kinda hard to find the actual edit, but here it is. Perhaps @Neutrality can clarify what they meant? The source, which now seems a bit dated, doesn't mention it directly, but I’d guess it probably refers to biblical literalism. Oscar_. (talk) 03:31, 30 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

the title is confusing

edit

the article is about people of hispanic and LATAM heritage in the US, so wouldn't it be more clear if the title said that?

The article on latinamericans says "For the pan-ethnic demographic group in the United States..."

so why not make it "hispanic and latinoamericans in the US" so anyone who reads it can immediately know what it is about

My point of view is that Latinamericans and Latino Americans are different things. Since the US is not part of Latin America, the only Latinamericans in the US are immigrants who don't have US citizenship; however this page deals (mostly) with American (US) citizens. --Jotamar (talk) 18:24, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Jotamar ok, but wikipedia is a global site so shouldn't the appeal be broader? i think the title "hispanics and latino americans" would lead most people to think it's about people from LATAM, not about people from the US with latino heritage Charlie danvers (talk) 01:54, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps Americans of Hispanic and Latino origin/heritage/ancestry/etc. would be a better page title, but I wouldn't change it without a solid consensus among editors. --Jotamar (talk) 21:29, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm from Australia. For obvious geographic reasons we have very few people here of Hispanic or Latino background. I find both terms very confusing. I have no idea what LATAM is. (Wasn't it the name of an airline?) This IS a global encyclopaedia and we really must explain this stuff better for non-Americans. WITHOUT Pre-existing jargon! @HiLo48 LATin AMerica. Hispanic means of spanish descent while Latin means of latino heritage, so it includes like portuguese, indigenous, african, etc.
it's a name that's been in use for ages, and yes, the name of an airline as well, called that cause it is i believe the biggest one around. (it was made by the fusion of the two biggest ones before, LAN and TAM) Charlie danvers (talk) 23:11, 4 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, but I repeat - This IS a global encyclopaedia and we really must explain this stuff better for non-Americans. WITHOUT Pre-existing jargon! HiLo48 (talk) 23:46, 4 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Possible unreviewed AI use

Hi -- I have tagged this article as potentially AI generated, specifically edits by user Synthetic.Cognizance. They display many tells of AI writing, and a sockpuppet investigation seems to be further evidence. Needs review, fact-checking, tone check, etc. Gnomingstuff (talk) 18:12, 13 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
