- The first mention from Refinery29, I'd probably take as indication the skirt was receiving coverage in RS, but it's a shopping link, and for a retail brand that makes me very cautious.
- The loyalty program is already mentioned in the article, what were you hoping to change?
- Ditto the popup coverage -- a lot of which is 404, maybe you can find better URLs? -- what is it exactly that you want to see covered? We aren't going to use language like "real-time feedback, consistent with The Halara Circle, the company's community-based product-testing initiative". We might say "has created popup shops" if RS support that. These all look like very iffy sources, could be paid for, which we won't use. PR Newswire, for instance, is not a RS.

- The description "especially notorious" for its "annoying" and "pervasive" advertisements tied to a very specific moment in their startup days rather than who they are now. These words have become somewhat outdated.[WIKI:Verifiabilty][WIKI:NPOV], more recent sources (like Ref [22] and [25]) also point out that the brand has grown into a pretty mainstream athleisure label, with physical stores in places like The Grove and Stanford Shopping Center, and more organic cultural visibility too (for example Taylor Swift being spotted wearing it at Coachella). The overall image today is pretty different from the early “aggressive ad” era.

- I add a date to that content for context, but on a quick skim I don't see in either CSA or Refinery29 that Halara has changed marketing strategy from being social media heavy. I'm afraid both pieces also feel like they were written from a press release.

- Also, for their social marketing, their strategy isn't "especially notorious" for its "annoying" and "pervasive" advertisements. They are focused on customer engagement and listen to customer voice. Social media provide a place for customers participate by giving feedback, answering questions, and sharing their experiences. - Neither of those Yahoo pieces nor the Benzinga piece are reliable independent sources, they're all generated from press releases. They're what Halara would like to have said about Halara. They aren't what independent sources are saying. For any content about an organization that is even remotely non-factual, sources must be both reliable and independent. We can only use Halara as a source for things like date of founding and other nondisputable facts.
- The stuff in quotes are not scare quotes. Those are actual quotes from reliable sources. That is what Vox was saying in 2021: "The brand Halara is especially notorious for its targeted TikTok ads, which are so pervasive that some users can’t scroll through the app without encountering it. (At least one woman has made a TikTok begging Halara’s marketing team to stop bombarding her with ads.) And as annoying as Halara’s advertising strategy can be, it has been undoubtedly successful in generating attention and discourse around the brand’s bestselling item: the exercise dress."

Request to remove 'fast fashion'

I've been reviewing the recent edits regarding Halara's classification. I'd like to propose that we remove the term "fast-fashion" and revise the description to: "Halara is a Chinese DTC women's athleisure brand".
Here is why 'Fast Fashion' might be a misleading or incomplete descriptor in this specific case, based on several industry-standard definitions, below is the character of fast fashion: High Speed & Low Cost : using cheap materials and labor.(from Collins dictionary) Supply-Driven : Constantly releases new collections to encourage frequent purchases.(from Forbes) High Volume : Produces massive quantities, often leading to overstock and waste.(from The New York Times)
1. It is a misconception to label Halara as merely 'High Speed & Low Cost'. Their core value proposition is Fabric Technology (e.g., anti-wrinkle, pet-hair-resistant, and moisture-wicking properties). These are performance-oriented, functional textiles that involve significant R&D and cost, positioned for long-term use rather than single-wear trends. Labeling high-performance activewear as 'cheaply made fashion' creates a factual discrepancy. 2. Halara, however, utilizes a 'Demand-Driven' VS 'Supply-Driven' approach. As reported by Glossy and Media Post, Halara leverages their 'The Halara Circle' (THC) initiative to analyze consumer pain points and feedback. This allows them to iterate on products based on actual consumer pain points—like pocket placement or waistband compression—rather than blindly chasing runway trends.Notably, Halara's core catalog consists of staple categories—such as their signature leggings, active dresses, and skirts—many of which have remained active on their site for 3 to 5 years. - Shanghai United Media Group and Vogue Business are calling Halara fast fashion, which is why Wikipedia is calling Halara fast fashion.
- I get your argument, but we need WP:reliable sources that are WP:independent discussing this. Editors here summarize what independent, reliable sources are saying. We don't do original research, which is what would be required for me or any other editor to do to get from point A (fast fashion typically includes most of these characteristics) to point B (Halara shares some but not all of these characteristics) and on our own conclude Halara doesn't share enough of these characteristics to truly be considered fast fashion. Someone else in a reliable, independent source has to be making that analysis. If you can find someone else in a reliable, independent source questioning whether Halara shares enough of the characteristics of other fast fashion retailers to be included in that, we can include their viewpoint. I have a disclosed conflict of interest with Halara and would like to suggest several limited updates for review by uninvolved editors. 1. Image request Could the following Wikimedia Commons image be added to the article, preferably in the infobox or lead area?

2. Proposed replacement for the Product development section The current Product development section already mentions machine learning, customer surveys, product testing and customer feedback. I am suggesting a concise replacement to make that existing section more specific using two independent secondary sources, Glossy and Modern Retail. Proposed replacement: Halara's product development has been described as combining machine learning, online customer feedback and product testing. Glossy reported in 2024 that the company uses machine learning to identify patterns in comments on its product pages and Instagram, with the results informing product sizing, fit, material choices, new product ideas and inventory quantities.[1] In 2025, Halara launched The Halara Circle, a loyalty and product testing program. According to Modern Retail, the program selects customers to receive products in exchange for feedback on style, fabric, functionality and design features. The publication reported that the program selects about 5,000 participants each month and had more than 30,000 participants since its soft launch.[2]
3. Proposed addition to the Products section The current Products section lists leggings, women's underwear, exercise dresses and skorts as the brand's main products. I am suggesting the following short addition to reflect coverage of Halara's denim-inspired products. Proposed addition: Halara has also sold denim-inspired apparel, including jeans and denim-look products made with stretch fabrics.[3]
4. Proposed update to the History section The current History section already mentions that Halara opened its first pop-up store in New York City in 2024 and another in Los Angeles in 2025. I am suggesting the following replacement for that sentence to add sourced detail about the company's temporary retail activity and related events. Proposed replacement: In May 2024, Halara opened its first pop-up store in New York City.[4] In 2025, the company operated temporary retail pop-ups in Los Angeles, Palo Alto and San Diego.[5][6] In 2026, Bryant Park listed Bryant Park Yoga as presented by Halara.[7]
