Hakone Tozan Line

edit

I just traveled on this line and I noticed that near the Gora station there are no cables in the ground, just an overhead electric line. As the train set travels higher, somewhere along the way it hooks on to a cable that is running in the ground. This dual powered approach is unusual. Any comments? 153.156.160.252 (talk) 08:41, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

There are two railways, from Hakone to Gora (Hakone Tozan Line) is a conventional electric railway with switchbacks. From Gora to Sōunzan it is an electric powered funicular (cable car)(Hakone Tozan Cable Car) railway. The lines do not physically connect. At Gora Station, the train line platform is flat, and the funicular platform is on an incline. Alex Sims (talk) 10:30, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
