Former husband?
editAs far as I know, Gwen and C Gordon (Gordy) Bell were married until his death in May 2024. Both deserve an upgrade and an update: Gwen Bell became ill and left her post at CHM (I believe taken for some years by her daughter, first name forgotten, second name Bell) while Gordy was still with Microsoft, based on conversations I had with CHM/TCM staff (I’ve been a donor and equipment hunter, informally, for the museums, though I must note I’ve been inactive due to disability and rather [malediction] off at the institution since it moved West with Microsoft money - can’t keep from getting a bit personal on this one) Gwen may have not been as technical as the designer of several of DEC’s computers, but they had a strong marriage from an outsider and former newspaperman’s knowledge. I would suggest checking on whether she is still alive, and put a little life into the story of the woman behind the man who developed a half-dozen major computers for DEC, while also Gordon taught at Carnegie-Mellon University, between stints at MIT,DEC and finally at the ‘soft, where he was essentially given a contract to do whatever he wanted to, as long as MS got to see things first.
