It seems unfair to not include Dolph Ziggler (Nick Nemeth) as a Grand Slam Champion

edit

I can only assume the rationale here is that Ziggler "only" won the World Heavyweight Title ("the Big Gold Belt") to go along with his various tag-team, IC, and US title reigns. But that title (with a history stretching back over 100 years) was considered co-equal to the WWF/WWE title (now merged with the Universal title and referred to, IMO inelegantly, as the "WWE Undisputed Universal Championship") and it was NOT discontinued in 2013; it was UNIFIED with the WWE title.

Its history should count towards the Grand Slam and Ziggler should be recognized as a Grand Slam Champion. It seems unfair to consider Christian (who likewise won this title but not the WWF/WWE title) a Grand Slam Champion because he qualified under the old rules (winning a tertiary championship), but exclude Ziggler. And it IMO unfairly disadvantages Jack Swagger (Jake Hager), who is only 42 years old and still an active wrester, to say that he can't be considered a Triple Crown Champion (should he return to WWE and win a Tag-Team Championship to go with his World Heavyweight and U.S. Title reigns) or a Grand Slam (should Swagger also win the Intercontinental Championship) winner.

(Mark Hardy would also be subject to such a disadvantage, but he has retired.)

I realize that WWE has their own standards, but IMO general recognition for Ziggler would put pressure on them to remedy this error. Thoughts? 2600:1700:F070:AB10:214C:9205:4018:90B6 (talk) 18:49, 23 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

We don't make up our own rules and definitions. Is it unfair? Maybe. Do we care? Absolutely not. WWE doesn't list him as a grand slam champion, so we don't either. Period. oknazevad (talk) 03:20, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dolph Ziggler cannot be considered a grand slam champion due to the fact that he won 3 of the 4 titles under each of the two formats.
Under the old format, he won:
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship (2001-2013 version represented by the old Big Gold Belt)
- WWE Tag Team Championship (old version that became the Raw Tag Team Championship and now the new World Tag Team Championship)
- WWE Intercontinental Championship
The other titles that would have completed the grand slam are the Hardcore or European titles. Dolph won neither and both are retired. He can no longer become a grand slam champion under this format.
Under the new format, Dolph won the US title, the Intercontinental Championship and the same tag team title. The latter two qualify for the new format because they are still active and their lineages are still intact. The old World Heavyweight Championship does not count towards this one. Likewise, the new World Heavyweight Championship, with a separate lineage, does not count either. Dolph will need to win the WWE Championship specifically to complete the grand slam under the new format. 2600:4040:9DC2:6E00:A2DC:1711:2C77:F3FD (talk) 13:29, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Section for the NWA Grand Slam

edit

In the Triple Crown article, there is a champion who is considered an NWA Grand Slam Champion for holding the 3 singles titles and the tag team title. However, there is nothing here on that. Please consider adding a section for that. 2600:4040:9DC2:6E00:A2DC:1711:2C77:F3FD (talk) 13:01, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

AAA and Grand Slam?

edit

Does AAA count? WWE bought AAA earlier this year and Dominik Mysterio is a Grand Slam Champion. -- 184.144.128.45 (talk) 01:50, 1 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Missing information on Finn Bálor's Intercontinental and United States Championship reigns under revised WWE Grand Slam section. ~2025-31995-41 (talk) 07:14, 13 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. NotJamestack (talk) 09:22, 13 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Under Secondary Championships:
Change Intercontinental Championship Date to February 17, 2019 (Start Date of first reign)
Change United States Championship Date to February 28, 2022 (Same as Above)
Both details are missing in article under the List of WWE Grand Slam Winners revised format section of the page and that is the change that I'm requesting to be made. ~2025-31995-41 (talk) 16:25, 13 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also the same pieces of information from above reply are missing for Kevin Owens as well.
For the Intercontinental Championship his first title reign started on September 20, 2015.
And for the United States Championship his first title reign started on April 2, 2017.
Please change these from unfilled to adding in the above dates under the secondary titles (both needed) tab of Revised format (established 2015) subheader of the List of WWE Grand Slam winners portion of the page. ~2025-31995-41 (talk) 16:38, 13 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Original wwe world tag title in revised format

edit

Wwe recently posted a picture on facebook with the caption grand slam champion with cena holding the original world tag title. Does this mean that they canonize the original world tag title as part of the revised format now? ~2025-39852-35 (talk) 15:35, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

@~2025-39852-35 WWE has made this confusing by showing him with the old World Tag, on top of releasing a Grand Slam t-shirt for him that shows the old World Tag (and not the WWE Tag, but did include the old World Heavyweight too for some reason). The description on the product page for that t-shirt also says the Grand Slam is a world title, the IC title, the US title, and a tag title (but doesn't specify it has to be a current world or current tag title). If CM Punk ever wins the US title (without winning a current tag first) and they call him a Grand Slam, then they are retconning and re-adding the eligibility of the old World Tag back. I agree. They are making it very confusing cause they are contradicting themselves in an article they posted saying who is a grandslam champion. Idk if punk will ever hold the US title but i guess we will have to wait to find out. ~2025-39852-35 (talk) 18:05, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Unofficial NXT Grand Slam

edit

As of January 29, 2026, Fallon Henley has won NXT North American Championship, WWE Women's Speed Championship, NXT Women's Tag Team Championship. If she wins NXT Women's Champinship, she would had won every currently possible championship in NXT.Nbagigafreak (talk) 07:18, 29 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

WWE Universal Championship in Revised format?

edit

The Universal Championship was officially retired on April 7, 2024, but it still appears in the table of Revised format.

Is it possible to create another revised table, but with the World Heavyweight Championship?

Or is it better to modify the existing table? --Diego B91 (talk) 12:52, 22 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't think we should revise the table because WWE themselves have not recognized any winner of the 2023 WHC as a Grand Slam Champion yet because Seth Rollins is the only one who has won the WHC and the other necessary titles for the Grand Slam BUT he had already achieved Grand Slam status at WM 34 in 2018 with his IC title win already having held the WWE Championship, the U.S. Championship, and the Raw Tag Team Championship.
I don't suspect WWE will revise the format until previous WHC holders Gunther wins the Tag and U.S. title, Damian Priest wins the IC title, or Jey Uso wins the U.S. title which would make them Grand Slam Champions with the 2023 World Heavyweight Championship.
I don't believe WWE will revise the format if 2023 WHC holders CM Punk or Drew McIntyre win the U.S. Title to complete the Grand Slam because they both previously held the WWE title which is a title eligible for the Grand Slam under the current format.
Also it's worth noting that WWE never acknowledged the Universal Title as being part of the Triple Crown, otherwise Braun Strowman would have earned the Triple Crown at WM 36 with his Universal Title win and Kevin Owens would have earned it at WM 39 with his Tag Team Championship win. WWE is very wish-washy with the Triple Crown and Grand Slam distinctions. RyanConnell5150 (talk) 07:31, 30 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Wwe original format 2x grand slam winners

edit

Is it worth noting, seeing that seth and the miz have a line for their second time as grand slam in the modern day format that HHH and Jeff hardy are also 2x grandslam champions slams in the original format?

HHH held the wwe or world title 2x, IC title at least 2x, world tag titles 2x (stone cold, then shawn Michaels. I understand the titles were "unified" but linage wise they are considered still as two separate championships also according to the wwes records on their site), and he held the European title 2x

Jeff hardy held the world title 2x, IC at least 2x, world tag titles at least 2x and the Hardcore title at least 2x.

Im not expecting it to be added, but it was just something to bring up. Thanks for your time. ~2026-20442-56 (talk) 00:53, 3 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. When i mean line i just mean the little (2 time) note that miz and seth have under their name. ~2026-20442-56 (talk) 01:02, 3 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

NXT Grand Slam

edit

Is this an actual thing? I mean does WWE refer to Tony D as such? I could not find any evidence that WWE considers his achievements to be different from a Triple Crown, especially since the Heritage Cup seems to be shelved. DasallmächtigeJ (talk) 08:10, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I think someone edited it because he won a 4th championship in wwe without doing due diligence first. Although i would wait till Tuesday to see if when he comes to the ring if they make some kind of announcement by the commentators or untill wwe makes an article on their website ~2026-20442-56 (talk) 10:12, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Cena's tag team win

edit

Even though only one is needed, why is his winning of the World Tag Team championship with Shawn Michaels mentioned? He has won both tag titles twice, and his World Tag Team reigns happened before his WWE Tag Team reigns, yet only his earliest WWE Tag Team reign is mentioned.

Other wrestlers that have won both tag team titles have both of their reigns and dates listed. Plinkis (talk) 21:26, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
