Edit request: Clarify status of parent company Gowing Bros Limited
edit| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
The article currently describes the historical Gowings department store chain, which closed its last store in January 2006, but does not address what became of the parent company, Gowing Bros Limited. The article notes the 2001 divestment ("Gowings divested the stores to an independent listed company, Gowings Retail (later G Retail), to enable them to concentrate on their investment and property interests") but does not follow through on the parent's continuing existence. Gowing Bros Limited remains listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker GOW and operates as an investment and property management company.
I propose adding the following section after the existing narrative about the closure of the retail business:
Continuing parent company
editFollowing the 2001 divestment of its retail operations, Gowing Bros Limited continued to operate independently as an investment and property management company. It remains listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker GOW.[1][2]
