Did they exist outside of mutualism

in the article it states "This fungus no longer exists naturally outside the ant colonies.", suggesting that this type of fungus once existed without ant mutualism. Yet I cannot find evidence of this ever existing outside of ant colonies. ~2025-34566-69 (talk) 12:37, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
