That’s because the 2007 season contested certain speedway races in the old Gen 4 car.
Also, the Buick Regal and Oldsmobile Cutlass continued to compete (but in smaller numbers) into the Gen 4 era. They may not have been true Gen 4 cars because they lacked the continued aerodynamic evolution of the other cars.
