- California: California Code of Civil Procedure section 474 applies.
- US Federal: FRCP rule 4(m) applies; Does were been dismissed for lack of service (http://www.dmlp.org/threats/difrawi-v-henderson) though in that case, I wonder if the judge was sending a subtle fuck off to a plaintiff seen to be a serial abuser of the judicial process; the area is unclear - other Doe cases have not been dismissed. --Elvey(t•c) 19:48, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
