UK law regarding general licences
editVery recently the "general licences" were revoked after an inquiry established that they were legally unsound. I am in the process of collating the details with an aim to improve the content in this regard, but since I am not a one-man article writing machine, I should make the community aware of what I am working with so far, so it may address the issue in a more timely manner if it sees fit. The following: , , , , , , , and are the immediately most relevant sources of info I've found (so far). I also have a bookmark folder stuffed with sources regarding their history, which is relevant, and courtship and general interest, but this is more of a heads up that an account of intention to edit. Main image
editIf no one objects, the top image here is jumbled in with some other pigeon images in the "description section" and I believe it could be the main image.

The current main image is a poor quality image with blotchy pixels, motion blur, that was taken with a cell phone of a group of pigeons. The Luc Viatour image was posted almost 20 years ago, but it is clean, sharp and well composed. It is also a featured picture winner. Just this morning I added an image to the commons which is a larger image, but I cannot say it is better.

If anyone thinks either of these images improves the article, please consider making a change. As I have indicated one of the images is my own, I would prefer someone make that call, not me.
Thank you for your consideration. Needsmoreritalin (talk) 14:25, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Agree that current page image is suboptimal. Of the two suggestions, I would prefer the second, as the bird is more of a "classic" feral (the first is has some fancy breed characteristics that may be misleading here). --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 16:11, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the comment. Looks like nobody else chimed in. I can make the change based on your input, or should we wait a few more days? Needsmoreritalin (talk) 00:06, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
Tone of article requires revision.
editWhile within this article can be found detailed sections on disease, trapping, population culling, faeces and predators of the feral pigeon, there is little information on the behaviour patterns, social behaviours of groups and couples, human interaction, cultural impact etc. of the feral pigeon. Not only is this article therefore lacking of information that could be included about the feral pigeon, but it is apparent that the article voices a slightly 'anti-pigeon' authorial tonality; the impartiality and detail of this article should therefore be addressed.
