  • Hello! I'll review this.
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I very strongly prefer Alt 2 (2b to be specific). Alt 1 seems interesting to Soviet history aficianados or people who already know of Karzhavin and Alt 3 seems a little hard to satisfactorily substantiate. I'd recommend a shift to alt 2c

Academic might not be the right word and "friend" could be a substitute, but based on looking at the source, I think it's ambiguous enough that the source of the claim should be front-loaded. I also think the change in wording would fit in the lead of the article. I think the wording is acceptable as is, but think something like Alt2c would be a bit stronger. But if not, I think Alt2b works. Fascinating article! Dizzycheekchewer (talk) 04:57, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Dizzycheekchewer: Don't think the ALT2c is needed since 2a/2b provides just about enough interesting detail. Also, I had to fix the formatting of this DYK in the meantime. ミラP@Miraclepine 12:49, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
