Fast Fashion & Its Impact

edit

Aside from the detrimental environmental effects brought about by fast fashion companies, there are many other issues that are not often spoken about. Specifically, many fast fashion companies rely on cheap labor processes. In countries that are much less developed than the United States, this process can be brutal and may not be a sustainable job due to the low income that workers make. Those who work in the fast fashion industry receive very low incomes that cannot support their lifestyles. Aside from cheap labor proceses, another issue is that fast fashion companies can have a major impact on the economy. For example, Zara and SHEIN, both being very well known companies, have had the ability to drive out many other small business. Small businesses are in competition with these fast fashion companies, causing a loss in business. Overall, fast fashion has created such issues within our world and it is important that changes are made to the industry. Emecohen (talk) 20:46, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dated edits

edit

Under "Fashion industry" there is a line that reads "as of 2017" which as far as i can tell was posted in 2018. Should this be changed to a "since [year]" instead or even removed entirely? Currently it makes it look a bit outdated in my opinion. New to the editing game so dont have privileges or the confidence for a page this large.
