Merge proposal
editI am proposing to merge National Coalition for Justice and Democracy into this article as the party isn’t independently notable. Mccapra (talk) 09:04, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose merge. While the National Coalition for Justice and Democracy covers some of his work, it doesn't mention his initial medical profession or personal opinions/statements. Lf8u2 (talk) 03:41, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Lf8u2: That won’t matter. By merging the article about the party INTO his biographical article, both his political and medical and other work will be preserved. Mccapra (talk) 20:09, 1 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Mccapra No objection to that. I interpreted it as vice versa, but I'm okay with a merge (or redirect) to his bio. Lf8u2 (talk) 21:14, 1 September 2025 (UTC)
- This is quite absurd, because Mccapra instantly did the merge, despite the fact that there was also a separate discussion at Talk:National Coalition for Justice and Democracy which should not have been ignored. Coming back from there, I reverted the merge and state that I oppose the merge. The article of National Coalition for Justice and Democracy has, ironically, more sources and content than this one, and so WP:NOTABILITY is not a concern. The party has its own entry in the PASSIA Dictionary of Palestinian Political Terms and likewise has its own entry in The Palestinian parliamentary legislative elections 25 January 2006 by Salih Biçakci. The fact it merited standalone entries and the information was enough to write the article shows notability - it also has its own article on the Arabic wiki. - Oppose. as the others have stated, the party does have its own article on AR wiki, along with several references. Not the same as a person either. Absurd proposal. PlebeianTribune (talk) 22:17, 1 September 2025 (UTC)
- Comment. I do struggle to see evidence of notability for the National Coalition for Justice and Democracy outside of being mentioned in Eyad al-Sarraj articles (who is clearly notable). They never won a seat and I can't find any reasonable article - never mind WP:SIGCOV - from a good quality source that covers them? Yes, 'National Coalition for Justice and Democracy' would definately quality as a redirect to Eyad al-Sarraj as it is mentioned in the Dictionary of Palestinian Political Terms (per above), but I don't see notability as a standalone topic imho? thanks.
