Note: @DaniloDaysOfOurLives and I are working very hard to review every single GA nomination in the television section. Consider joining us to clear the backlog!

Will review. I can't believe there's over 7000 episodes of this show... How many have you watched? Also, how many of the episodes do you think are notable enough for their own article? IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Btw I sent you an email (maybe it went to spam?). Of course don't feel pressured to respond though :D IAWW (talk) 21:11, 14 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Lead

edit

I think the lead should be split into two paragraphs, separating the plot summary from the production and reception IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Plot

edit

are working their recording: Is there meant to be an "on" in here? IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes sorry! Fixed DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:21, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

she hits out at David for having sex with her, despite being married to Ian: Who was married to Ian? I though Cindy was engaged to him, not married? IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

She used to be married to Ian and is now engaged to him again - I have clarified the sentence DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:22, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

she said that he broke the hearts of other women and abandoned his children Joe Wicks (Paul Nicholls) and Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), accusing him of Double standard and ruining people's lives: Grammatically, "accusing him" modifies Bianca, but this clearly isn't meant to be the case. This is a very common grammar mistake. It's called a dangling/misplaced modifier. I suggest looking into it. IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think I fixed this DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:22, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

confides in his dad confides to his father: I think you wrote this twice IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Fixed DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:22, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Cindy tells David that she does not love Junior but needs passion in her life. She tells David that she wants real romantic love in her life: This is almost fully repeated information, can you condense it? IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Fixed I think DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:22, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Cindy has some sort of relationship with everyone xD

Production and release

edit

Were the Digital Spy spoilers released before the episode released? If so, I think it should be put before the release to maintain the chronology. IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I have moved it DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:22, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The episode is set during Cindy and Ian's engagement party, which had started the prior episode: This seems like it should be in the beginning of the plot summary section. Also was the whole episode set during the engagement party? IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

It was all set during it but at multiple locations. I put it in the production section as it fits with the production info DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:23, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

woman, admitting that it started out as a fling: "admitting that..." modifies "woman". This is a dangling modifier. It's also not clear what "it" refers to. IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

You are so good at the English language! I think I fixed it... DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:23, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm really not! I learned to find WP:CINS issues very well after so many GA reviews, and I found out how to identify dangling and misplaced modifiers after ChatGPT kept finding them in my writing. That's the only two "advanced" English concepts mistakes I can identify lol IAWW (talk) 17:44, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

leading to George...: Another misplaced modifier. It's unclear what led to George giving his son advice. IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think I fixed it DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:24, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think the last paragraph should be merged into the plot summary IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I originally put it in the production section as this talks about plot development rather than the plot and camera work etc and the plot continuity to other episodes. Furthermore, it would make the plot section too long and would feel out of place as the plot section is meant to be in universe whereas the other sections are out of universe DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:26, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Reception

edit

Denby also believed that Cindy and David's "revealing conversation" was a "ticking timebomb" just "waiting to be rumbled!"[14] Denby called the recording of the Cindy's "twisted" admission of her affair and being in love with George "a ticking timebomb" that could worsen the situation.: I think only keep one of these largely repeating sentences IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I have combined them DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:26, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I added "said" to "Collins and Palmer both [said] they enjoyed working with French again" because I think it's a little more accurate and neutral. Let me know if you have any issues with this. IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Suggestions (not needed for GA promotion)

edit

Suggest archiving non-dead references to prevent link rot IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

"Palmer told... Palmer believed... Palmer added... Palmer thought... Palmer was" is rather repetitive. IAWW (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hey @It is a wonderful world: I am so sorry, I did not know you had finished the review! I will do the changes ASAP... I am so sorry, I did not see that it had been completed!!! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 00:01, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
@DaniloDaysOfOurLives No worries at all. Sorry about the GNG issue by the way. I don't mean to say you did anything wrong. I just thought I'd mention you since one of your reviews was being discussed. IAWW (talk) 00:32, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hey @It is a wonderful world I think I have fixed mostly everything. I tried archiving the final three sources and archived two of them but the Daily Mirror one would not archive for some reason :( I have addressed everything else though, thank you so so so so much for your lovely and helpful review! Please let me know if there is anything else DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 07:33, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
@DaniloDaysOfOurLives I am quite happy with your improvements and think this is now GA worthy! Passing now. IAWW (talk) 17:46, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

It solves the WP:SEAOFBLUE concerns, but I still have reservations about either hook as currently written meeting DYKINT. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 23:43, 19 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Narutolovehinata5: Surely a character returning to a show after 27 years is interesting? I reworded it slightly now. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 23:45, 19 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
It is, it's just that I think a better wording could be proposed that would not be reliant on knowledge of EastEnders. I also suspect that "Episode 6994" would turn off readers, so a possible wording could involve piping it without naming the episode by name in the hook. Maybe someone like Sammi Brie could help with that? Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 23:48, 19 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@DaniloDaysOfOurLives and Narutolovehinata5: Perhaps try this... These episode number titles remind me of my call signs. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 01:01, 20 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
  • Full review needed now that a new hook has been proposed. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:09, 27 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
    • Approved. QPQ is done. Promoted to GA within the window. Clearly long enough and generally in good shape. No evident plagiarism or BLP concerns; there are a few hits on Earwig, but they are mostly to quotations used with attribution: one or two potentially very minor WP:CLOP sentences that I don't think rise to the level of a problem. Three images; two check out straighforwardly; File:Paul Nicholls Actor 2016 (3zBDh3JZYAg).jpg has both a CC-BY licence and a copyright notice on its YouTube page, but I think the intent is clearly to allow reuse with attribution (and indeed the previous volunteer thought as much). The new hook is stated explicitly in the article and checks out from the sources there -- I think it's interesting enough, too, so we're good to go. Discussion on naming convention for articles on unnamed TV episodes

There is a discussion underway at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (television)#Titling episode articles without titles that would affect how articles like this one are named.--Srleffler (talk) 22:11, 26 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
