Character list
editI noticed that a "Character list" was created and removed a few times. Any reason? I think it would be a helpful addition. PegLegTuna (talk) 03:38, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
I think it got put back on to the movie page.. TuTuFrogie (talk) 05:24, 10 November 2010 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.122.5.239 (talk)
Movie Page
editI'm moving the information regarding the film to its own page. =D Jumping cheese Contact 10:14, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
Where is all the info on how well it did commercially and it's significance and critical reaction, etc? It irritates me how wikipedia has no consistency in structure for pages of a certain type (such as novels)
If you are talking about the book page, I agree completely. I would really like to add this information - I just haven't had time to research it yet.
this is cool =D :)
- I've tried to edit it some. It still needs work, but at least there's more of an article about the book, rather than an article about the plot of the book. --132 20:19, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
i thinks it's good. PegLegTuna (talk) 04:38, 20 October 2010 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.122.5.239 (talk)
Book cover
editWho drew the cover for the book? Whoever did it made Ella look quite the alluring young woman. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:36, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
A new cover was put on it in 2011 when the book was revised. It's by Greg Call. I don't know who did the original illustration.
Revison
editMy copy says "Revised edition, 2011" on the obverse title page. There should be a section covering the differences. I just bought it this past Sunday and have never owned or read it before, although I have seen the movie. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 19:36, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
Anyone familiar with this book care to add it to this list?
editTypes of mythological or fantastic beings in contemporary fiction is a page of, well, fantasy works (movie, TV, written, whatever) and the assorted mythological and/or fantastic critters they contain. This book would probably qualify. Anyone care to add it? Tamtrible (talk) 09:49, 26 August 2017 (UTC)

- Hi! I completed an overhaul of this article for my English class. I plan expanded/edited several sections of the page to improve clarity and depth of the current article. First, grammatically improved the lead section to better summarize the information in the article and eliminated current redundancies. Next, I'll developed the Background and Development section to include more detailed information about Gail Carson Levine’s early influences, her writing process, and the origin of the novel’s concept (fairytale retelling) — all using the author interviews and primary source in my bibliography. I also plan to add a lot to the Analysis section by turning into a Analysis and Themes section, in which I incorporated scholarly research on topics such as gender roles, autonomy, and power, which should add critical depth beyond basic plot summary (which will also be tailored significantly). Additionally, I expanded the Adaptations section to provide a more nuanced discussion of the 2004 film, including differences from the source material from Levine’s own commentary; and reference the award-winning musical that was adapted. Finally, I simplified the Awards and Reception section by incorporating critical reviews and rankings to better demonstrate the novel’s literary significance and cultural impact. This should all significantly build out and improve the existing content in the article. Thanks! MeghanEmily (talk) 22:16, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- Excuse me if this is out of place, but did you improve your comment by running it through an AI LLM? Yserbius (talk) 20:03, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
