Shadow of the Erdtree is out
editElden Ring's DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, was released about a month ago, yet has no article. All the other FromSoft DLCs have their own articles (though the three Dark Souls II DLCs are in one article).
SOTE is a substantial DLC, and I'd say important enough to warrant an article of its own. KingoftheFishies (talk) 00:08, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- This should definitely have a page of its own, it's considered by some to be the greatest DLC ever and bordering its own separate game. Spikesjb (talk) 02:54, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- It's now mid-November and there's still no Shadow of the Erdtree article. Not even a section about it here. A wild omission at this point. 2600:1700:3C60:38F0:305A:804E:E8FA:EC2C (talk) 09:40, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
- I'd normally be hesitant on whether or not a DLC requires its own article some of the time, but Shadow of the Erdtree seems to be one that absolutely warrants one, especially when it was (for some reason) just nominated for Game of the Year. I'm not familiar with Elden Ring, so I don't think it'd be within jurisdiction to create an article on something related to it, but I think it should definitely have an article at this point. It's absolutely notable. λ NegativeMP1 19:38, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- Is there any process that's needed to approve a page for it? Thaumtron (talk) 22:32, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- For new editors, it's generally recommended they go through the articles for creation process, which would allow them to create a draft article, submit it, and allow a reviewer to review it and give feedback, ultimately choosing whether or not it becomes an actual article. However, this process is not mandatory, and as long as a user is autoconfirmed, they can create an article outright. λ NegativeMP1 22:43, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

You are likely wrong about parts of the synopsis
editWould it not be better to begin with the fact that most of the lore is not ever clearly revealed, and open to interpretation of the environmental story telling? My apologys if this is unappropiate or if i´m wrong! 2A02:8070:6188:2B60:283B:68B5:47B7:88C9 (talk) 00:07, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
Bad Faith Edits
edit>Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a realm blessed by entities called Outer Gods.
Outer Gods aren't blessing the Lands Between. Matter of fact, Rot and Frenzied Flame seem to actively try to damn and/or destroy it.
>Godfrey, a barbarian warlord who was later banished for unknown reasons
Reasons aren't unknown: Tarnished as whole were created to one day contend for the throne of Elden Lord, and the implication of their banishment is similar to the concept of Thunder Warriors from Warhammer 40,000: they were too warlike and barbaric for Marika's new world.
>These demi-gods are(...)and Rennala, Radagon's ex-wife and queen of the Liurnia region.
Rennala is not a demigod, nor did she inherit a Great Rune. How she came to own it is unknown, though the most popular theory is that Radagon gifted it to her.
Furthermore, the paragraph concerning the Tarnished leaves out a number of them, but most importantly Horah Loux, who is mentioned in the opening cutscene.
I'm posting this here, as I've already edited the page twice, and it is consistently rolled back by the same user, with no provided reason. Icerayne (talk) 21:32, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

edit
We recently had the official announcement of a movie adaptation of the game. I think it's worth adding this to the game's page.

Critical source
editI won't add this myself because it would be self-cite but I did notice the critical reception stuff here was a bit thin and I happened to write a pretty substantial piece of crticism on Elden Ring. I'll put this link here on article talk. FYI that Seize the Press is a minor literary magazine that I have done a small amount of freelance work (such as this article) with. If anyone thinks it might be a useful source for this article that's great. If no it's ultimately no skin off my nose. Simonm223 (talk) 17:59, 5 September 2025 (UTC)

"Elden Ring received over 300 Game of the Year awards"
should be
"Elden Ring received over 400 Game of the Year awards"
or 425
at the time of posting it was over 300, it's 425 now. Should be edited considering it's the most awarded game of all time according to the same exact sources found on the website: https://goty.gamefa.com/ where every award is being tracked. ~2025-34887-33 (talk) 01:12, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

Change "Cooperative players remain in the same world until the boss of the area is defeated or until a summoned player dies and is returned to their home world." to "Cooperative players remain in the same world until the boss of the area is defeated, the host of the world dies or until the summoned player dies or is sent home by the host and is returned to their home world."
Change "World hosts may use a "taunter's tongue" to increase the likelihood their world will be invaded by others and to decrease the time between invasions." to "World hosts may use a "taunter's tongue" to increase the likelihood their world will be invaded by others, decrease the time between invasions and increase the maximum possible number of invaders.
