The date in the first sentence of the second paragraph lacks the year (August 27 of which year?). --Kaihsu Tai 17:18, 2003 Dec 19 (UTC)

I have added the putative 1927. --Kaihsu Tai 17:20, 2003 Dec 19 (UTC)
I have removed the August date, leaving only the year; this seems consistent with the People's Liberation Army article. --Kaihsu Tai 17:23, 2003 Dec 19 (UTC)
Wow, that was a stupid mistake on my part... generally I am too lazy to proofread my articles on here, except for the obvious "forgot to finish brackets" or "forgot to end emphasis" sort of things... ugen64 03:24, Jan 23, 2004 (UTC)

The recent version of this article included text lifted from the online Britannica article of the same name. ( http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/181256/Eighth-Route-Army ). The article history for the Britannica article indicates it was edited in August 2006, so I have reverted this article to a pre-August 2006 version. W. B. Wilson (talk) 04:53, 1 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Why is it called "eigth route"? Odd name for an army division.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.211.236 (talk) 00:18, 23 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not to be confused with?

Wasn't there also an 18th Army/11th Division? might be good to add a "not to be confused with" to the top of this page. BTW, that 18th Army/11th Division (german trained) page definitely needs expansion and clarification, maybe just using the zh wiki text.
