RawsrvntEddy Puyol – I think a name change for Rawsrvnt page is appropriate as I’m using Eddy Puyol now. Can you please help with that? I now go by Eddy Puyol (my real name) and FKA Rawsrvnt if people know from previous. On the Rawsrvnt Wiki page it’s already listed as such. Let me know how this is possible along with changing profile pics. Thanks! Rawsrvnt (talk) 19:40, 10 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Here are some suggested

after Rift made some edits and dead links, errors and bad grammar were found:

-Fix dead links:

Eddy Puyol (pronounced "pooh-yole")[1] was born on July 4, 1979,[2] in Miami, Florida.[3] He has two younger siblings, a sister, Sofia, and a brother, Roberto ("Bobby").[4] His parents, Orlando and Susana (née, Smith), are both immigrants from Cuba. They own and operate a learning center for children.[5]

@STEMinfo: Thank you again for your earlier review of this request. As you noted, some material was removed or marked with citation needed because the sources were either self-published or not strong enough. To help strengthen the article, I’ve located additional third-party reliable sources that appear to support some of the points previously flagged.

Under career

-Following sentence to be fixed to connect the Story Tour’s Wiki page and accurately share about the tour:

Later that year, he joined the Music Inspired by The Story Tour, a musical journey from Genesis to Revelation.[12] As part of the tour, he performed a medley segment on the 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards.[13]

-Add year and mashup to following sentence for accuracy:

In 2013, Puyol's "I Gotta Feeling/Take It All" mashup was used by DJ Promote to warm up crowds on Chris Tomlin's "Burning Lights" tour.[14]

Not done The song isn't mentioned in the source. Removed as unverified and not encyclopedic. STEMinfo (talk) 19:35, 1 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

-Start section better, and use words in past tense, add Monday Night Football placement:

Puyol's music has connected with the sports world in numerous ways. He performed at Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade's birthday brunch,[15] NASCAR driver Michael McDowell (racing driver) selected "On Fire" for his track introduction,[16][17] the Miami Dolphins used "Game Changer" as the theme for their weekly coaches show, and ESPN licensed "There Go That Man" for their 2017 NBA Finals and 2017 NBA draft coverage.[18][19]In 2021, ESPN licensed Puyol's "Sigue Pa' Lante" for a Monday Night Football telecast to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.[20] 73.205.146.62 (talk) 01:11, 12 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Unreliable sources

edit

I have tagged several sources on this page with an "unreliable source" tag, specifically those from Rapzilla. This website sells exposure (explained on their "artist services" page, which gives their prices for a package of posts on their website). I don't see any editorial oversight, fact-checking or even actual journalism happening here. For example, this Rapzilla post is little more than a lightly rehashed version of a post on Puyol's own website. These sources (which make up a large portion of the sources on this page) do not meet the threshold of a WP:RS. 02:11, 14 December 2025 (UTC) Rift (talk) 02:11, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Statement Regarding Allegations of False or Fabricated Information
Recent claims have been made alleging that information related to Eddy Puyol (formerly known as Rawsrvnt) constitutes false or fabricated news, including assertions that Rapzilla was paid to publish coverage. No verifiable evidence has been provided to support these accusations.
Rapzilla is a long-established and respected media outlet within the Christian Hip Hop community and operates independently in its editorial decisions. Coverage by Rapzilla is consistent with its standard reporting practices and does not, by itself, indicate paid promotion or fabrication. Under Wikipedia’s reliable sources guideline (WP:RS), Rapzilla has previously been accepted as a secondary source for genre-specific music coverage.
To address concerns about verifiability, updated links and supporting documentation have been provided, including:
  • Timestamped video interviews in which Eddy Puyol directly discusses Grammy ballot submissions and Billboard charting, making fabrication or AI manipulation implausible.
  • Multiple independent cross-references across interviews and media entries that corroborate career milestones.
  • Sources that distinguish clearly between verified facts and opinion, with no speculative claims presented as fact.
All claims included in the article are supported by verifiable, published sources in accordance with Wikipedia’s core content policies (WP:V, WP:NOR, WP:RS). No original research or speculation regarding Puyol’s career statistics or achievements has been introduced.
Unless reliable counter-sources are provided that directly refute these references, the material should not be removed based on unsubstantiated accusations alone. ~2025-41340-53 (talk) 16:12, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
You seem to have a misunderstanding of what a reliable source is.
  • A website taking money to reprint an artist's press release is not a WP:RS; see WP:INDEPENDENT. You failed to cite any examples of discussion on Wikipedia (e.g. on WP:RSN) that determined Rapzilla or its ilk are reliable sources.
  • Not including a birth year in the citation that you have repeatedly added to claim 1979 as a birth year fails WP:VERIFY.
  • Using an ESPN video posted by the subject himself to assert that subject's song was used is:
    • 1. WP:OR. Nowhere is it stated in the video what the song title or artist is
    • 2. WP:COPYLINK: This upload is ESPN's content on Puyol's own YouTube page, a probably copyright violation
Happy to work with any reliable, independent, third-party sources you find. Rift (talk) 18:13, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi all, I wanted to provide context regarding sources and notability for this article to address concerns about WP:RS, WP:GNG, and WP:OR.
1. **Notability (WP:GNG):** Eddy Puyol has received multiple independent, reliable sources covering his music and career, including Cross Rhythms, CCM Magazine, and The Palm Beach Post. His participation in the Music Inspired by The Story Tour and performance at the 43rd GMA Dove Awards further establish coverage in notable events.
2. **Reliable sources (WP:RS):** Most sources cited are independent and reputable. Rapzilla is included **only** as a reporting platform for the Story Tour; secondary sources like BREATHEcast, Cross Rhythms, and CCM Magazine independently verify these events. No paid promotion is cited; Rapzilla’s editorial content is not used for self-promotion.
3. **Primary sources and verification (WP:VERIFY):** Dates, personal life events, and TV appearances are supported with verifiable sources, including The Palm Beach Post, EddyPuyol.com, YouTube videos from official channels, and NewReleaseToday. Unnecessary primary sources (like AllMusic or NewReleaseToday for DOB/pronunciation) have been removed from the main article.
4. **Original research (WP:OR):** No assertions have been made beyond what reliable sources state. Claims about song usage on ESPN and private performances are directly sourced. No speculation or unverified conclusions are included.
5. **Additional context for editors:** For DOB or full discography references, the following are available if needed but were not used in the main article to avoid over-reliance on primary sources:
- [1]
- [2]
6. **Streaming and discography verification:** Eddy Puyol’s music is publicly available on major platforms under both his birth name and former stage name, Rawsrvnt, supporting verifiable career activity:
- Apple Music – Eddy Puyol: [3]
- Apple Music – Rawsrvnt: [4]
- Spotify – Eddy Puyol: [5]
- Spotify – Rawsrvnt: [6]
Overall, all major claims are supported by independent, reliable sources, and the article meets Wikipedia’s notability, verifiability, and reliable sourcing standards. ~2025-43107-21 (talk) 14:26, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
