Simplification of taxonomy section

edit

Please edit indentions of dino names so that when people print, it doesn't move to the side. Not easily readable for people with accessibility problems. 208.119.81.194 (talk) 19:47, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

You mean the list in the "Taxonomy" section, I assume? I agree that the list is too large and unwieldy for this overview article here. We certainly could simplify that a bit; for a start, all taxa could be removed that don't have their own Wikipedia article (Ceratopsoidea and more), and we could also remove clades below family level. To make the indentions smaller, we would have to abandon the bullet points. Let's see what others think. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 20:33, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Images in the infobox

edit

Why do all images in the infobox depict extinct species, whereas those of the bird species are displayed separately? I randomly opened Elephantidae and Cetacean to note that the their infoboxes combine images of both living and extinct species. --Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 11:52, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Dentition

edit

The lemma on Dentition contains a section Dentition#Dinosaurs. It seems to be odly out of place because there is not really a comprehensive discussion of teeth in various groups of animals. I think it may fit better in the Dinosaur lemma in the section Dinosaur#Distinguishing anatomical features, although that section as the title promises focusses on how dinosaur anatomy deviates from that in outer groups. Extending it to a full section about anatomy including variability between different dinosaurs would be a lot of work. The least I think needs to be done is making a note about the section in the Dentition lemma. So I think the editors who feel responsibility for the Dinosaur lemma may want to consider what to do.
