This encyclopedia article reads like a marketing document. I question whether or not some contributions came from Oracle. If a subject matter expert sees this message, please take the opportunity to weigh in here. 167.21.141.13 (talk) 13:42, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

This is very biased towards stored procedures which creates a vendor lock, and definitely feels like this is influenced by Oracle. Maintaining data integrity can also be done using a service layer. 96.231.201.9 (talk) 19:02, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for pointing this out. I can no longer find the article on Oracle's web site (previously at http://download.oracle.com/oowsf2004/1091_wp.pdf), but I've substituted a valid link to the file (a Word document) on Toon Koppelaars' site. He is one of the two original authors. - JCLately (talk) 20:41, 27 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

"He is one of the two original authors"... Allow me to correct this. I'm the only author, there is no second one.
Also you give the impression that this is a paper by Oracle corp. They did post it on otn.oracle.com, a few weeks after it was published. But that doesn't make it an 'Oracle paper'. It is a paper I wrote after having had my first J2EE technology 'encounter'. Toon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.239.202.173 (talk) 09:53, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oops - that's what I get for not speaking Dutch. I should have realized, though, that "Centraal Boekhuis" is the name of an organization, not a person. I didn't say it was an Oracle paper, only that it was presented (i.e. published online) by Oracle Corporation. To clarify further I've adjusted the wording again. Thanks for your help! - JCLately (talk) 00:39, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
