People have regularly changed the spelling to DarrAn, and this does appear to be correct, despite most standard stats sources, including e.g. Soccerbase and Neil Brown, and many media sources using the standard spelling.
- Assuming the facebook mentioned in the most recent edit summary does belong to the subject, it's spelt with an "a";
- Birth registration details at Findmypast have an "a";
- A wide variety of media sources, both name-checks and more in-depth coverage, use that spelling: e.g. Independent, Stoke Sentinel, Birmingham Mail, Exeter Express & Echo, Plymouth Herald, Dorset Echo;
- As do club-related sources: Greens on Screen (Plymouth) "Darran - often misspelt as Darren, even in home programmes";
- trading cards: via a well-known auction site;
- and, particularly convincing, the covers of his benefit match programme and testimonial brochure (scroll down to the image, the auction listing uses the standard spelling).
There are far too many good sources for such an extremely unusual spelling for it to be wrong. I'll move the page. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:03, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
