editPenny Richards (and anyone else watching this page), would you be interested in improving this article with the goal of taking it to featured quality? I've read Powers' book, and have lots of sources on the pulp magazines, and I think it wouldn't be too hard to get the article to that standard. - Thanks! I wish I knew the answer; the source just says "On July 10, 1922 or 1923". Presumably there's something in Bacon's papers that says "July 10", and the biographer was able to pin it down to these two years, but not to the exact year.
