I would agree - seems to be an advertisement. The strange thing is - in the German Wikipedia we got the same thing, just in more detail. There the author explains himself as follows (his oppinion): "PSoC" is a Cypress trademark, only Atmel also has something like that because the bought the right from Cypress, Altera calls it SOPC "System On Programmable Chip" ... He claims to have checked other companies products and nobody used "PSoC", so in his opinion that is NOT a universal term to describe what it says, but a term connected specifically to a range of Cypress products. Sooooo - maybe he's right. Maybe he was right when he wrote it ? I can't judge that without doing a lot of research. BUT: In my opinion there should be a Wikipedia page dedicated to ALL programmable systems on chip from all vendors and linked by default to all those abrevations and THAT page should then sub-link to such vendor-specific pages like the one we discuss here. The Cypress trademark should go down into a "multiple choice for this term" selection and NOT be the default that somebody gets when he looks for the search term "PSoC". I am an employee of Infineon Technologies and am proposing the following updates to improve accuracy and completeness.

Requested edits: 1. Please replace the current lead section with the text provided below. 2. Please add the following paragraph to the History section immediately after the 2016 entry.

Lead section (replace existing text with):

PSoC (Programmable System on a Chip) is a family of microcontroller integrated circuits originally developed by Cypress Semiconductor. Following Infineon Technologies' acquisition of Cypress in 2020, the product line has been manufactured and marketed by Infineon.

The PSoC MCU architecture historically combined a CPU core with mixed-signal arrays of programmable analog and digital peripherals, enabling designers to configure system functions within the device. More recent PSoC devices incorporate features commonly found in 32-bit microcontrollers, such as Arm Cortex-based cores and integrated communication peripherals.

History section (addition after the 2016 paragraph):

In April 2020, Infineon Technologies completed its acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor for approximately €9.0 billion, integrating the PSoC family into Infineon's broader microcontroller portfolio.
