The cultural genocide of hindu bengalis?

edit

there was outright attack on the Bengalis as a whole not only the bengali hindus by the pakistani government, and after that there was no institutionalised constitutional attack on the bengali hindus that could be considered a cultural genocide.

If every account of religious persecution in south asia is cultural genocide then we will need one on india too and many other lists but that does not necessarily constitute as a cultural genocide to begin with the source does not say anything explicitly abt the cultural genocide of bengali hindus happening in bengladesh now there had been concerns but widespread actions taken to harm erase or supress the bengali hindu identity or their culture is not present.

If accounts of persecution and abuse are considered as to constitute a cultural genocide then there is a need for a longer endless list for countries throught the world doing this 'cultural genocide'

Moreover the bengali genocide in itself cant be called the ethnic cleansing of 'hindus'or 'bengali hindu genocide '(while disproportionately targeted)and the paragraph does not seem to differentiate if it is taking abt the bangladeshi genocide as to equate a'hindu' one

Conclusion : my contentions is that the source given is not enough if we do want to claim a cultural genocide of bangldeshi hindus going on right now we need more credible evidence and accounting of widespread instances.
If mere phrases were to be enough to claim cultural genocide that is a big thing to imply then we could ascertain that one in india regarding the buddhists has certainly happened and one regarding the muslims is taking place with all the political certainty... based on vague instances and perceptions but that is far from the complex truth as my point stand religious persecution and supression of ones ethnic identity may not always constitute a cultural genocide. 2409:40E4:1159:E3FC:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 17:19, 10 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Unrelated classification of 'cultural genocide' within Asia.

edit

The list of 'cultricides' in Asia are being categorised as religious ("By Muslims") and political ideologies ("By Communists/Leftists") when the reasons for historical events are much more complex. This can imply biased, causal relationships which aren't supported by sources. For example, cases involving Armenia, Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Bangladesh are grouped under a religious heading when in reality they were influenced by different governments, historical periods and scholarly interpretations.

My edits intended to fix the non-neutral wording and generalisation of motives of cultural genocide. Also, numerous "dead url's" are present in the Armenia-Turkey section of the article which proves that the sources are insufficient.@Dafootballguy@harvardjock ~2026-32587-25 (talk) 22:53, 31 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for discussing, I didn't see that you pinged me (Wikipedia is case sensitive when using @). I don't have any objections to additions of your perspective, my only issue was your removal of sourced content. To maintain a neutral point-of-view, you could try providing your counter-point using reliable sources that describe your perspective next to the material you're objecting. In the alternative, if enough sources exist support your argument here, you may then be justified in entirely removing the Turkey-Armenia claim, as you already attempted to do, per WP:UNDUE and WP:BALANCE.
