Transfer

edit

Hello, I'm here to suggest the transfer of the page to Rusty Lake and changing the subject from the Cube Escape series to the whole studio and its other projects. I've made a draft in my sandbox of the final hypotetical page. I hope you'll like my work. Kind regards, -PersiaF |Talk|Contr| 14:48, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

If Cube Escape itself is notable, there is no need to change the scope of the page. So if you believe it is not notable, then nominate it for AfD. That should ultimately not affect the Rusty Lake draft, which should be moved to Rusty Lake when it's ready. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:01, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't think the games studio is independently notable of the game studio. It takes a lot for a studio to get the press. The games series is probably the only notable bit. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:10, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I agree with the fact that the studio is less notable than the games, but the Cube Escape series isn't separated from the other games of the studio, that basically does only games set in that universe. I just suppose that is strange to have a cube escape page without the premium games linked to them. A studio page just seems to me the best way to give a full view of the games. -PersiaF |Talk|Contr| 15:27, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I would add that The White Door page too seems like a stub and should be removed, just keep everything in one studio page is the best way for those lesser known games, imho. -PersiaF |Talk|Contr| 21:45, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I have conclusively proven The White Door is a notable game and should have its own article, see the talk page of said article for more sources.
It seems like Hardcore Gaming 101, at least, considers the Rusty Lake games and others to be part of the Cube Escape series despite not being named as such. I have thus far rejected the studio for not being notable, so it appears that this article should probably stay where it is and have the information about the studio and other games incorporated into it instead.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 11:14, 14 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Merge/series page

edit

I've got a draft for the Rusty Lake series up at AfC (Draft:Rusty Lake (series)). There are many outlets that do refer to the games as overall belonging to the Rusty Lake universe - some use the term Rusty Lake series, some say Rusty Lake universe.

This draft came about as a result of a page I'd created for the developers - it was nominated for AfD before I could return and improve it further. (Real life always gets in the way.) My goal was to eventually add a larger section for their overall games. My draft is the retooled version of what I'd had planned.

I've merged this into this article so that people could get an idea of how expansive the overall Rusty Lake series has become. Properly covering the series outside of the Cube Escape sub-series is going to put undue weight on those games, so I think a spinoff is warranted here. The alternative is to either continue expanding or to deliberately under-cover the series in order to prevent it from overwhelming the Cube Escape portions. Oh also another note - I did correct a few things with the Cube Escape games. The initial version claimed that the detective was the protagonist of the games, which isn't correct. He's one of the more frequent protagonists, but not the main one. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 12:46, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
The page was repeatedly rejected, so overly large section in this article it is. It's kind of wild that although multiple individual entries are notable, the coverage for the games tend to generally focus on the overall series (due to the overlapping story), and so on, that's not enough to establish notability for the series and shared universe. In pretty much any other area of notability it would be. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 11:33, 21 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Harvey, the parrot

edit

I also realized that Harvey also appears and it's just that we couldn't see his hands, legs, torso, or head we only get to know that we're if we kill each other the guest back in the lobby, we find the room keys. There's also a box in the lobby with lots of keys holes. Each room has a paper toque on what type of room key should be placed and if we solve the puzzle, we find a box of cigarettes if we give the cigarettes to Mr. owl he'll say for the cigarettes, Harvey and that's how we can know that we are Harvey. 2600:8805:3509:4E00:E883:65D3:1E01:4DD1 (talk) 16:46, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
