Origins of the term 'crop circle'

edit

'Circular Evidence' by Colin Andrews and Pat Delgado is given as the source of the term crop circle in this entry. Owning the book, I am unable to locate this reference. Can I suggest Paul Fuller and Jenny Randles' 'Controversy of the Circles' published by BUFORA in 1989 as a better option? It is available at https://thecroppie.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/buforacontroversy.pdf 2A00:23EE:2868:6A58:8146:3967:7A06:7A83 (talk) 13:11, 19 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I think this word (and others historically used) could be added. Stjohn1970 (talk) 17:30, 7 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Oliver's Castle case

edit

The case of Oliver's Castle in England (Wiltshire) in 1996 is quite unique and emblematic, showing the formation of a crop circle in a matter of seconds.[1][2] ~2026-27280-82 (talk) 18:55, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Daily Express is no reliable source, and BBC did not do any research, but just quoted a UFO freak (talking about hours, not seconds). --Hob Gadling (talk) 04:05, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I am adding a video from an independent third-party source: Oliver's Castle Crop Circle 1996 - The Original Footage on Vimeo.com of 24 January 2018.
