The article should be moved back to Communications protocol
editI just noticed that this article is at the wrong title.
Google Ngram Viewer shows that the plural form is far more prevalent in the published corpus.
Under WP:COMMONNAME, we go with the most commonly used name. Any objections before I initiate a request for a move? Coolcaesar (talk) 15:37, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Before we flip-flop this again, have you researched the justification for the previous change? ~Kvng (talk) 15:32, 16 August 2025 (UTC)
Improving readability of the lead: "via any variation..."
editI'm editing the lead to improve readability. The final clause ("via any variation of a physical quantity") doesn't make very much sense and returns zero search results—indicating it is neither standard usage nor taken from a technical source. Aaron (talk) 15:59, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- What it's trying to say there is information can be transmitted by means such as blinking a light on and off, varying electrical voltage or current, emitting sound in different patterns (talking), or sending smoke into the air so others can see it. I'm not sure it is important to restore this, but I thought it would be helpful to explain it. ~Kvng (talk) 16:04, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
