Chronological?
editDoes anyone know if the word 'Chronicle' was chosen jokingly? It would almost seem that way, as the story is not set up in any sort of chronalogical order, save for the fact that the murder happens (again) at the end. Citizen Premier 00:54, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
Idea
editTo help students understand the plot in the correct order, could someone arrange the events in the correct chronological order, and on the day of the murder itself, could we get all of the times in there too? To get started, I remember that Santiago Nasar woke up around six in the morning and was killed around seven. Tusserte 02:21, 17 April 2007 (UTC) The last part is about magical realism rather than Chronicle of a Death Foretold. Anonymous narrator?
editThe article states that the narrator it's anonymous, but it's a self-insertion of Gabriel García Marquez himself, you can confirm it by looking at the names of the family of the narrator in the novel: the name of the mother matches with the name of Gabriel García Marquez's mother, same for the wife, the name of the aunt of the narrator is Wenefrida Márquez(that means that one of the 2 surnames of the narrator is Marquez), there is also the mentioning of a brother named Jaime(Garcia Marquez also has a brother named Jaime in real life).
I kind of remember that in one part of the novel somebody calls the narrator "Gabriel", but I'm not completely sure.
