editThis species does not appear to be listed on the Linnean herbarium website, at least under the name Chimaphila. I haven't tried researching any synonyms under which it might be there. Woody832 (talk) 14:17, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

editI found pipsissewa listed on page 53 of The Standard Manual of Soda and Other Beverages by A. Emil Hiss (G. P. Engelhard, 1897). It is listed under the second Root Beer Extract recipe.
