Remove ahirwar from chamar

edit

Hello editors, I respectfully request the removal of the word "Ahirwar" from the Chamar caste page, as Ahirwar is considered a distinct caste by many sources in Madhya Pradesh. Please refer to [source] for clarification. 2409:4089:8281:4D19:5CF5:84A:F6E9:274B (talk) 20:53, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello user, Can you show me the sources in which Ahirwar is mentioned as a different caste? Dolphish (talk) 02:55, 3 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Jatav

edit

Is it correct to write Jatav after Chamar here? Because Jatav is a sub-caste of Chamar caste and a separate article has been made for Jatav on Wikipedia. This article is about Chamar caste and anyway details of Jatav have been given in Chamar article in 'Chamar Caste in different States of India' section. According to me, the word Jatav should be removed from the lead. thank you Dolphish (talk) 02:52, 3 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Remove Bangladesh from lead as this is unsourced and misleading. Muydivertido (talk) 22:53, 5 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Citations are not required for the lead section, since it is a summary of material in the body of the article. (see MOS:LEADCITE). Day Creature (talk) 16:38, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

The Chamar community never wore a Muslim cap, yet the photo has been posted to defame them. This photo has been posted targeting the Chamar community. People of the Chamar caste have been farmers, sages, and kings—like Balakdas, who lived only a short while ago.
