Discussion about why disambiguation is necessary here
editSee Talk:Operation Weiss#"Fall Weiss" is the codename for the German invasion of Poland – wbm1058 (talk) 14:18, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- I’m not sure that meets the requirement for a dab page. In English, the two names are Fall/Case Weiss and Operation Weiss. I think they are sufficiently different to allow them to stand alone with reciprocal hatnotes to deal with any confusion. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 20:23, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Peacemaker67: from the above-linked discussion:
I see that argument above, but weren't you the one, who moved the article to Case White (1943) in the first place?
- @ 02:52, 27 June 2012 Peacemaker67 moved page Fourth Enemy Offensive to Case White (1943): see talkpage
- The relevant discussion is at Talk:Kozara Offensive#Third enemy offensive. I need to review that discussion to try to understand the rationale, but if the article had not been moved off of the apparently unambiguous title "Fourth Enemy Offensive" we wouldn't have the problem we have now. – wbm1058 (talk) 16:45, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- My Google Books search seems to say that the term "Case White" should not be used to describe anything related to World War II. – wbm1058 (talk) 16:52, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
- So what are you saying? That we can just solve this with hatnotes and be done, and that edits like this are unnecessary? I disagree. – wbm1058 (talk) 17:47, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
