XQYY or XQYYYY system

edit

Where does the XQYY or XQYYYY yearly quarters system derive from? Is this from a BS spec?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.169.35.1 (talk) 12:29, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hebrew Calendar

edit

It does not have an "average length of 365.2468 days" - unless it's a leap year, a Hebrew calendar year never reaches 360 days. See here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.80.240.112 (talk) 04:45, 8 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Calendar vs fiscal quarters

edit

It looks like the quarters here were recently changed to US fiscal quarters. But this page is about the Calendar year, so I think these should be calendar quarters, where Q1 starts with January. Or perhaps I've misunderstood?

Etymology

edit

A calendar year is divided into Quartals (a period, as in time) which are quarters (quotient, as in mathematics, division) of a year (time), using the Quaternary numeral system (hence the confusion). [1]  Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.239.241.248 (talk) 07:04, 21 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
