The ‘South Korea’ subheading has a lot of unsubstantiated and generalised claims. Provide reference or alter. ~2026-14524-5 (talk) 02:09, 8 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Organization in the Description Section

edit

I'd like to propose several edits to improve the organization and completeness of this article. I'll outline my suggestions by section below.

Description: The current description contains some information that isn't directly relevant to explaining what bubble tea is, such as clarifying what cassava is and where it originated. Additionally, details about how the drink is served are already covered in later sections and don't need to be in the description. I'd like to tighten this section so it focuses on clearly defining the drink.

Variants – Drink: This subsection should consistently cover the liquid components of the drink. Currently it includes mention of boba ice cream bars and the boba within them, which feels out of place here. I'd suggest moving that content to a more appropriate location, such as a "Related products" subsection. Additionally, while milk tea vs. milkless tea is touched on, there is relatively little detail about what goes into milkless options. I'd like to expand this with information about fruit teas and other common flavorings used in place of milk.

Ice and Sugar Level: The section currently describes common interval options but doesn't note that these vary from shop to shop, as there is no standardized recipe. I'd like to add this context. I'd also like to add a mention that some shops offer hot bubble tea, which is a real but currently unrepresented variant.

Preparation Method: The section currently covers how the individual components are made but doesn't describe what happens after that. I'd like to add that once the liquid is prepared — whether by hand-shaking, machine-shaking, or blending — toppings are added and the cup is typically sealed with plastic film or a cap. A straw is then inserted when the drink is ready to be consumed.

All additions will be sourced with reliable references. Feedback is welcome before I begin making changes. Li002398 (talk) 19:59, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Question about adding a boozy boba section in the variant section

edit

Hello, I am working on this article as part of a class project. I plan the region of popularity to also include the UK. Also plan to add n the variant sections, a boozy boba or mixed drink boba section since people are now incorporating it with alcohol. Let me know you thoughts!  Preceding unsigned comment added by Tran0982 (talkcontribs) 20:45, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Expansion of the Popularity -> United States section

edit

I propose expanding the United States section on growth and popularity to include large US drink chains inclusion of bubble tea offerings on their menus over the past few years to demonstrate how far the popularity has grown. I think this should be in line with how the section currently is, as there is already a section discussing the rise of chains in the US, but not as far as a larger drink trend that companies like Starbucks have been leaning into.
