New thumbnail?
editI was just wondering whether it would be a good idea to update the picture to that of perhaps a ScotRail class 43, as whilst the current thumbnail showcases an iconic livery, it is a defunct livery, and I feel it may be more accurate to show a livery they carry in service today Class444SWRail (talk) 16:27, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

GWR withdrawal

- Interesting, but some of that is a bit speculative - more than one "expected to be". Wikipedia doesn't work to deadlines, so it would be better to just wait for other sources that come along after today to confirm what actually happened instead of what was expected to happen. There's no harm in waiting until then. 10mmsocket (talk) 21:48, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
Scotrail operations
editCourtesy pinging @Mackensen and @KnowledgeHaus - I'm not sure of the best way to describe the Scotrail section. I agree with KnowledgeHaus that Perth, Stirling and Dundee should be mentioned - they're the other three of Scotland's cities (before Dunfermline was named a city!) which formed the Seven Cities branding that Scotrail use... I tried to make it a bit clearer, but I'm still not happy. What do you both think?
The issue is that stopping patterns are odd, and indeed have changed since the HSTs were introduced.
- Glasgow > Inverness services call at Stirling and Perth
- Glasgow > Aberdeen services call at Stirling, Perth and Dundee
- Edinburgh > Aberdeen services call at Dundee (via Fife)
- Edinburgh > Inverness services on introduction called at Perth (via Fife)
- More recently, these have been diverted via Stirling, not Fife, so additionally call at Stirling
Additionally, on introduction, they also operated from Inverness to Aberdeen...
I don't think we need a comprehensive list here - but what's the best way to present the current paragraph in terms of wording, so it's not confusing which services call where? Danners430 tweaks made 12:56, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
Operations > Future doesn't make sense as a heading anymore
editsince it covers developments from 2018, 2021...
I'm not sure what to replace it with. Suggestions? ElectronicsForDogs (talk) 22:00, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- Just remove the subheading possibly. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:10, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
