November 2013 shooting
editAt this point we know that the shooting did not take place at the school. This is not CNN, folks. I will be removing the content added about the shooting til it becomes clear what if any involvement the school itself actually has. See WP:NOTNEWS. - This was not a school shooting in the natural sense. The shooting happened after school and in the woods after dismissal as the 3 students was walking up Crane avenue woods toward the Beechview Light rail stop, where they were ambushed. Mellifleur (talk) 11:01, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

Team Mascot/Name
editI changed the section for the team mascot. I was on the Student Council in 1990-1992. We had passed out the slips to the student body for a multiple choice of 4 different mascot / team name / moniker for the students to vote on. In usual High School fashion turnout was very low so the teachers decided to pick and settle on Bulls. This was due to the recent uptick in gang activity in the schools and in the city of Pittsburgh ( Bloods in the Hill District, Crips on Northside / Northview Heights/ Arlington / St. Clair Village and LAW in Wilkensburg. This was not due to parental concern, this was an administrative move through both Pittsburgh Public Schools and the school itself. Mellifleur (talk) 10:57, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
