Saad with the Chicago Blackhawks in December 2014
  • ... that ice hockey player Brandon Saad (pictured) has played over 900 NHL games and scored more than 500 points?
Improved to Good Article status by HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) and Spilia4 (talk). Number of QPQs required: 0. Nominator has fewer than 5 past nominations.

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
    QPQ: None required.

Overall: The article was elevated to GA status on October 24 and nominated for DYK on October 26. Image provided isclear and present on Wikimedia Commons with no apparent licensing issues that would prohibit its use here. The article is long enough and does not violate the neutrality or plagiarism guidelines for DYK. My only criticism would be that both the primary hook and ALT2 do not seem interesting to a general audience or all that notable (as someone who is not a fan of hockey, I have a limited frame of reference for whether or not the main hook is notable and ALT2 is just saying he was nominated for an award, but lost to someone else). ALT1 seems relatively interesting and somewhat notable, though I would recommend adding a link to the page for the Saginaw Spirit. Also would it be "a Stanley Cup" or "the Stanley Cup"? Putting on hold for response. JJonahJackalope (talk) 19:50, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

The above points are fair, I also think ALT2 would work best here, has been updated. Also changed "a Stanely Cup" to "the Stanely Cup" Crystalite13 (talk) 22:16, 10 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Crystalite13:, fantastic, just updated the status. Regards, -JJonahJackalope (talk) 16:46, 11 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
