Draft:Accidents and incidents involving the Boeing 777
editNote: New user Encyclomason (talk · contribs) is working on a draft that duplicates the topic of the § Accidents and incidents section here, at Draft:Accidents and incidents involving the Boeing 777. Perhaps someone here could mentor them, as to best steps forward, in particular, regarding citations, and WP:PAGEDECIDE. Mathglot (talk) 04:19, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
777 Specifications table has a strange reference problem.
editThe table has a great deal of information and should be in the article, however. There is a section of the table labelled "Takeoff" with strange numbers that isn't explained what it is, other than MTOW (Max TakeOff Weight) I can't easily find the source of this number to indicate what it is supposed to be, but I guesstimate it refers to runway length required for takeoff.
If that is what is referred to in the article, it should list "Takeoff runway length required" or something to that effect. I am hoping somebody know a bit more where this piece of information comes from and can clarify rather than me hamfisting in an edit, even if it is in good faith. 94.246.36.214 (talk) 17:26, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
Can someone with a Flight Global subscription confirm Boeing's involvement in the 777-300ERSF?
editThe article claims that Boeing and IAI launched the 777-300ERSF in October 2019, citing a paywalled Flight Global article as a source . However, the headline mentions GECAS, not Boeing, as IAI's launch partner. The official website for the 777-300ERSF does not seem to mention Boeing's official involvement, and instead mentions AerCap as IAI's partner. The plane is also not named the 777-300ERBCF like other official Boeing freighter conversion programs (e.g. 747-400BCF, 737-800BCF). A quick search of Boeing's website for "777-300ERSF" and "777-300ER Special Freighter" found absolutely no materials, unlike other official Boeing conversions. Pretty much every other source only mentions IAI, GECAS, or AerCap, and does not characterize it as an official Boeing project. Can someone with a Flight Global subscription confirm Boeing's involvement in the program and its launch? I am concerned Boeing's involvement in the program is being highly overstated, or is outright false.
With the claim that Boeing and IAI launched it, I have to title the section Boeing/IAI 777-300ER Special Freighter (SF) for now, which I would change to IAI 777-300ER Special Freighter if it turns out Boeing is not officially involved. 4300streetcar (talk) 17:21, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
- The Flight Global article does not say that Boeing is involved in the 777-300ERSF program. It only says that Boeing builds their own freighter variant, the 777F. - ZLEA T|C 18:11, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for checking and for the edit! 4300streetcar (talk) 19:18, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
