Talk:Banknotes of the Canadian dollar

Article too long?

edit

I think there is too much information in this article, especially under the List of Bank of Canada Note Series section. Each series has its own article and much of the info here should be moved over to those articles. Either that, or move everything here and get rid of the other articles.Király-Seth (talk) 22:16, 14 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've been working to expand the articles about each banknote series. I've done five so far (1935, 1937, 1954, Birds of Canada, and Frontier Series). Once I've completed the others, I'll update this article. Mindmatrix 14:27, 16 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

1954 series

edit
The 1954 series is called the "Canadian Landscape" series. [1] I'm going to move and edit the appropriate pages.--NearMiddayNight Feel free to come talk with me 20:23, 25 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Description of Subjects

edit

Seems worthwhile to me to include a brief note of who the various figures are on the banknotes. Jjazz76 (talk) 17:31, 16 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

If people want to know, they can just go to the respective articles. But if we were to include a (very) short blurb, we should probably not skip the women on the list.
And it would be "7th prime minister" per MOS:JOBTITLES.
Per MOS:EGG, either "prime minister" links to Prime Minister of Canada or we'd need to link "7th prime minister" to the list article. —Joeyconnick (talk) 17:50, 16 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Joeyconnick - I think it would make sense to add for each of those depicted. How does that sound? Could/should we create a column for each? Point taken on the linking. I'm not a Canadian but an American living and working in Canada for a few months so am not 100 percent on the nomenclature/capitalization etc. of various Canadia titles. Outdated 10 dollar bill

edit

in the image at the very beginning, the 10 dollar bill features a portrait of Sir John A. MacDonald, whereas the current 10 dollar bill has a vertically facing portrait of Viola Desmond. The current note is vertical though. ~2026-32885-40 (talk) 01:26, 4 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
