@DisneyMetalhead: Because things are easily lost in edit summaries, I thought I'd post this here. While the article prose calls out the writing contributions of Wiseman and Fennell, MikeAllen has pointed out that the Lionsgate info is currently only crediting Hatten with a full writing credit. This is probably the producer's take on the deserved credit that they submit to the writers and WGA for approval, arbitration, etc. I'd guess that Fennell will get an "Additional Literary Material" credit, but that doesn't go into the infobox (see Template talk:Infobox film/Archive 32#Additional Literary Material), and her contributions are covered in the prose already. We won't know until final credits are set. Additionally, the source added when Wiseman's "writing" contributions were added really only says Wiseman and Hatten were actively developing the script, not that Wiseman was necessarily writing. It could be that Wiseman was giving notes to Hatten, and Hatten re-wrote as necessary. Regardless, the same case with Fennell, final writing credits will let us know if he should be included in the infobox or not at a later time and if it should change from | writer= to | screenplay= | story= in order to accommodate. -2pou (talk) 17:44, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

While I agree that we need to go according to the WGA screenwriting credits, we have no way of knowing for sure what that will be yet. I would have thought we would adjust the article at that point.--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 02:19, 4 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
And now we have Emerald Fennell and Michael Finch added (by @ToNeverFindTheMets:) as screenwriters with a source to a Collider report stating "Emerald Fennell, who was hired by de Armas to punch up the script during shooting." and "McShane also praised the writing team of Michael Finch and Shay Hatten". We do not know who will get full credit. I'm not removing it, but I still think we should wait until a billing block is released. Mike Allen 01:10, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
de Armas stated in an interview with Elle Fennell was hired, and the OFFICIAL release is two years old at this point. When the billing block is released, we will change to what Lionsgate credits. Right now, McShane seems to be trustworthy enough to take his word for the ¨team¨, but I surely would love a billing block myself. Right now, as all is and can be understood at the moment, every piece of further information written is reflective of cited material; that expands on all that is fact, and nothing is contemptible or contradictory. Official title

edit

Well, this is a bit of a dilemma. Previously, it was believed that the official title was From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, and this article was moved accordingly per WP:NATURAL and WP:SUBTITLE. However, the final billing block has now appeared on the official website (direct link), and it turns out the official title is actually just Ballerina. For consistency, we usually stick to the official title even if a film is marketed under a slightly different one (e.g. F9, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Ghostbusters); at the same time, we also drop "branding" subtitles (e.g. Rogue One and Hobbs & Shaw) unless the official title is suitable for NATURAL disambiguation (e.g. Solo: A Star Wars Story and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery). I can see arguments for both Ballerina (2025 film) and From the World of John Wick: Ballerina as the former is shorter, official, and possibly more common, while the latter is more natural. Thoughts? Where is this billing block please?Darkwarriorblake (talk) 18:43, 15 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think now that the official billing is known, the article ought to be titled "Ballerina (2025 film)" because, while NATURAL disambiguation is usually preferred, simply "Ballerina" is the official name and is likely going to be the more common name to refer to this film as, and I liken this to be a similar situation to Hobbs & Shaw's Fast & Furious Presents branding used at the start of the title. Yeah, I agree, go with Ballerina (2025 film), maybe with a hidden note for the marketing title just to stop any edit warring. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 19:09, 15 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Don’t we need to start a discussing before changing the title? SuperFunHouse1 (talk) 22:36, 30 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

WP:Requested moves are one avenue for proposing and enacting moves. It is not required nor necessary to make a move request when consensus can be formed through natural discussion. Plus, "Ballerina" is the film's official title, making it more of an uncontroversial move. Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 23:01, 30 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
And it's the overwhelming WP:COMMONNAME as well from a cursory search. All three major theater chains are using this title: , along with RT, BOM, IMDb, and Fandango. An RM would likely reach the same consensus, just slower. InfiniteNexus (talk) 23:32, 30 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

It glitches and goes back and forth. The Substance went from 76 to 77, 78, 79 and then back to 76 million and then 77. Dhoffryn (talk) 21:24, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Final box office numbers didn't glitch. The box office page has finally been updated on The Numbers.com to match what the weekend box office numbers was reporting.MyGosh789 (talk) 21:38, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Format of cast list

edit

I propose making the cast list a bulleted list, in accordance with MOS:FILMCAST. The only two reasons listed there for prose are further Information's about a handful members of the cast, this doesnt apply here since there are no further information's and if there are to many important cast members to have in a one column list I would be open to reducing the number of cast members or using multiple columns, as suggested in MOS:FILMCAST.
