Talk:Bahamut (Final Fantasy)
Peta Flare
editWithout a citation to where someone has called Bahamut Sin's attack a "Peta Flare" I am going to remove it Deusfaux 23:42, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
In the latest Crisis Core demo, Genesis summons a new Bahamut called Bahamut Retsu, which uses "Exa Flare". Bahamut - Mega Flare, Neo Bahamut - Giga Flare, Bahamut ZERO - Terra Flare, Bahamut SIN - ____ Flare, Bahamut RETSU - Exa Flare.
I'm gonna say it's probably safe to fill in the blank with Peta, since they purposefully skipped it over to give RETSU the next step up.
- Fair argument. Unfortunately, that line of reason is a prime example of Original Research. Nimrand 17:35, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Concern
editWhat is the source which says that Bahamut uses a Thermonuclear attack? I am not fully aware of the informational resources that were used to create this page, however, the idea that it is a 'thermonuclear' blast seems ridiculous.
Name Confusion
editIn the first sentence, the claim is made that the Knights Templar worshiped the image of "Bahaumut". This is not true. The Catholic Church and Carolingian King of France accused the Knights Templar of heresy, sodomy, and idolatry, amongst other things, and the image of the deity they were accused of worshiping was named Baphomet. "Bahamut" is an Arabic cognate of the Hebrew word "Behemoth", and refers to one of the three great monsters in Hebrew folklore, Behemoth, Leviathan, and Ziz—one inhabiting the land, one inhabiting the ocean, and one inhabiting the sky. The word behemoth is Mesopotamian in origin not hebrew 74.236.92.108 19:27, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Bahamut SHIN?
editWhat's this thing about shin meaning tremor? Last I checked, shin was Japanese for "true". Arrow 03:57, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Homonym.—ウルタプ 23:36, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ah. I suppose this is where actually knowing the Japanese language and not relying on internet dictionaries comes in handy. :P Arrow 03:08, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Final Fantasy II
editThe article mentions that Bahamut is not present in Final Fantasy II. I beg to differ. You can find him in Cave Bahamut on the moon.
The author was referring to the Japanese numbering system. The game you are referring to is referred to as Final Fantasy IV in the article.
Bahamut in Final Fantasy XII
edit"In Final Fantasy XII, Bahamut is the name of a large airship and does not appear." this sentance doesn't make much sense, bahamut exists in FFXII, and you DEFINATELY see it. bahamut the dragon doesnt appear but since all original summons of the original final fantasy games have now taken the names of airships, as with the airships, ifrit, shiva, leviathan, etc. its safe to bahamut exists as an airship, significant to the plot of the story. bahamut is a recurring being in the final fantasy franchise. Bahamut is also a sky god mentioned several times in the game and in a way is the final boss.
Sources
editI made a few sources hope it helps Jehuty Strife 18:16, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
The article is now sourced, could someone now remove the catogorie of it not bieing sourced. Thank you 72.17.209.226 21:31, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Possible inconsistency
editThe article clearly states that tera flare is often misread as tetra flare, yet the trivia section specifically refers to tetra flare, instead of tera flare. Heihachi 15:02, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Page Reestablished
editI unmerged Bahamut(Final Fantasy) from the main Bahamut page as it seems to meet all the needed criteria for its own article and editors on the main Bahamut page seemed to think it was too large anyway. I added a few sources, but it could probably use more.Xenon Zaleo 16:05, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- What criteria are you talking about? Was there a discussion on the "too large for Bahamut" issue? And there's not enough out-of-universe to warrant it's own article just yet. — Blue。 08:35, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Since the page didn't contain enough out-of-universe material to warrant its own article and was subsequently reestablished as a redirect page, but the original information wasn't reapplied to the respective article, this redirect now leads to irrelevant information. I'm changing the redirect so it leads to Gameplay of Final Fantasy#Magic, which also references both the article to which this redirect links and the appropriate character, but at the moment, this redirect leads to a topic with no information regarding the Final Fantasy character.
